I had a reply half finished, but decided to make sure the question hadn't been answered already.

Serious question. What's our record if we were running Nix's offense all season? I know it's bullshite speculation, but, for shits and giggles, how many wins does this team have, so far, if Freeze recruits, golfs, and gets the frick out of the way?

Legit could/would have beaten Kent, Mizzou and maybe Ok IMO.
Still lose to UGA, Vandy, A&M.

Of course that’s with Daniels at QB

Man. With a spring, summer and early games of prep, we could have beat OK, UGA and Vandy.

All we needed was one more td. You don't think the vandy offense could've scored one more td against them?

Rumors on anothe board is that Durkin just wants to be a DC if so lets find a coach that canwork with him.

If we can land a top notch coach and he wants Durkin gone, I don’t care if Durkin leaves or not. Let coaches pick their staff.

He needs more DC rehab at Auburn. Can never be too careful.

Kiffin’s name has been floated for LSU and UF but not ours. Why? He was a shoe-in for the last cycle until his daughter screwed us with a PowerPoint. So what would be different about now? I just can’t imagine he would be radically opposed in just three years time.

Probably Sexton limiting the options to boost the Money or stay at Ole Miss.

If you link Kiffin to every job, it looks like you are trying to boost the salary and buyout. With just those two, they may pay up.

Makes sense, thanks!

I guess it doesn’t completely answer my question though - if we were so close to getting him last time, why are we not going for him again? Have things changed that drastically? He must be truly content at OM.

I’m just imagining a world where we have Kiffin as HC and Durkin as DC. I might cry tears of joy. Yes it’s fantasyland but that’s the point of these boards

I don't get what point you are trying to make.

We gave it our all going for Kiffin last time, and he said no. Who gives a shite how close it was? If he wanted to be here, he would have taken the job. And at the time we were the best SEC job open.

LSU is a "better" job than Auburn, and Florida is publicly considered to be as well. Florida also has a bonus on the Kiffin side in that he likes living in Florida, and he grew up idolizing Spurrier so there may be some feel-good magic about getting to coach there.

So now we are at best the 3rd option for a guy who said no to us already once before. So why would we waste time there again? And we may actually be the 4th option: he could just prefer to stay at Ole Miss period.

We all saw this @ Ole Miss already

It was good, not great

Kiffin will never win a Natty

Dude just can’t help himself and gets in his own way too much

He has given away WAY too many games with his boneheaded decisions

I might be in the minority here but he is way overrated

He lost 3 games last year with a MUCH better team

His schedule has set them up beautifully this season so we will see how he does in the playoffs

I would be absolutely shocked to see this team make the semi finals

After looking at all suitors, I am partial to Dilly. He has some cons, but I like his ceiling.

Dilly would be a perfect fit for Auburn

We need young and hungry

Worst case scenario, give Durkin a 2-3 yr deal as HC

unfortunately he’s also a perfect fit at his alma mater

but his youth may be to our advantage, unlike Brohm at UL

he might be more willing to see the bigger picture and the potential career advantages of an SEC gig

Brother he said no because of his daughter. She is graduating now.
