Tuberville and Freeze I think inherited similarly depleted teams, perhaps Tubs had a slightly better roster but Hugh has had the advantage of the transfer portal. Things were bad in 98, Bowden’s recruiting was bad and the scheme he recruited for was ill suited to Tubs scheme.
Tubs had Ben Leard, arguably the most underrated QB in AU history.
Freeze has PT, and the only woulda coulda shoulda in the portal was a guy we just couldn't afford.

This thread was needed. We need more fire the staff, the QB is trash type threads.
I’m as disappointed as any fan but the staff and most of the players have been here less than 2 years. Give the team some time. In year 4 I will judge how Freeze has done.

Other than he is recruiting well, what have you seen out of this coach that makes you so confident? Was it the one 10 win season at Ole Miss where they blew games they shouldn’t have and did not even make ATL? Was it those last two killer 8-5 seasons at Liberty? Has it been the moral victories here at Auburn where golly gee we had a lead after 3 quarters?

Yes we stole him from Liberty. He was still a clear upgrade to Caddie's QB commit.

Freeze and his excuses are bullshite. He got a pass last year because Harsin left a dumpster fire behind. I started feeling pretty pessimistic after the abortion of a bowl game we had against Maryland. After the game, Freeze said something along the lines of “wasn’t involved in game planning, was too busy out recruiting”. Fast forward to the offseason and people were shouting from the rooftops that we needed a transfer QB. Instead, we put all our eggs in the WR basket and settled for a Motley Crue of average at best QBs. Game day preparation and play calling has been atrocious from the start. Even with recruiting on the upswing, our program still seems to be spiraling.
Do yall realize we are on track for a fourth straight losing season??? That should never ever happen at Auburn; not even Kentucky or Mississippi State does that anymore.
