Like 2010 Cam was the difference with a veteran laden roster.

Any Auburn fan arguing against bringing in a QB and saying it’s not worth it doesn’t remember 2009 or 2012.

Nobody has advanced this argument. There is just no need in overpaying for it. You wanted to bring in the James Madison guy to replace Throne and we would only offer him a walk-on

Jville:
the living and walking version of buy high-sell low.

Our 2009 QB was fine when compared to the Ashfords out there anyways.

I love the fact that the coaches on high profile programs earning $5+MM a year are actually having to bust their arse in different ways especially in recruiting to earn that or get canned. I hate the fact that there is no consequence for their failures and they walk away with even larger amounts when they do get canned.

For all the money that Freeze and his assistants are making, I am looking for just one damn thing to begin with: raise our floor to 9 wins a season. That’s it, not a championship every year or some unachievable bs. Just get us to 9 wins and string three of those to begin with. In most seasons, that should be enough to get us in the CFP.

He definitely wasn’t afraid to stand in the pocket and deliver the ball, unlike the current QB.

shite like this is how you find yourself on losing ends of ban bets.

No matter how bad you think Thorne was, he still ran Ashford out of town :)

I’m feeling pretty confident about our other ban bet after the same old PT we saw at A-day

Just in case the peanut gallery doesn't remember:

Thorne has to throw 22 TDs this year

*caveat- he has to start at least the majority of the season

Ban: one month and loser has to sing the praises of the winner's intelligence, brawn, and girth.

Was it 23? Lets do 23.

However if he misses multiple games due to illness or benching then the bet is cooked.

Damn, that's a Bad bet lol This would make sense if he hadn't thrown for 3000+ and almost 30TDs at Michigan st. He's already shown he can do it as long as you surround him with NFL guys. Again, he could suck and throw 20+ to the dudes we have now. He threw 18 last year with Nick Mardner, Shane I run a 4.8 Hooks, Cam "alligator arms" brown, and that other dude from North Texas that I'm not even sure existed. Lol

The last QB we deemed an assclown really proved to us all he really was at Oregon. People seem to forget just how depleted our roster was just 18 months ago. Blowing our load on a QB now with all the other holes we are actively working at patch seems stupid

Feel free to join the bet then. People keep bringing up his sophomore year like he hasn’t steadily declined, lost his starting job at MSU, and was dead last in the SEC since then.

count me in

i’ll take the Throne side of the bet, if he could manage 18 last year with the miscreants and malcontents he had around him, he’s a lock to hit 23+ this year if he stays healthy

I’m on the under. I think he will show improvement early but then get benched for good after floundering in a couple of big games
