I thought it was strange that we hired Thompson instead of Lawing last season, though. He's a LB/DE/DT guy

Assistants are easy to pluck from FSU

He wants Rodney replaced. The thought was he would move to TE
I could see that, especially if JB retires as I've been told is possible & Coach Fountain moves back to OL where he coached a number of years at non P5 schools. Also would not be surprised if CDC leaves to be an OC & Bentley moves to WR coach.

Just rumors as usual

He legitimately didn't seem very enthused while at Auburn and I know he and Chizik had quite a few disagreements about instruction and how practices were conducted

ETA: Ellitor may have more details
Yeah. It's all rumor as you said but apparently Rock is much like most of us in that he does not like the current AD administration also. If true, I can't blame him for not wanting to come back.

How realistic of an options is he for us?
To soon to tell. There has to be movement on our staff first.

If there's going to be this much turnover we may as well hire a new coach

and have had someone call in accusing Auburn of tampering with the field to cause Bama players to slip

$20 says that's PepaSpray. That lunatic has been calling us every name in the book over that for 3 days. I have to assume he's trolling at some point, but if something else sacred gets damaged that guy is getting the first finger pointed at him

If Auburn would have won you know they would have Spike 80DF'd our field and likely targeted the video board

I don't understand why it is neccesary to replace coaches in order to retain Muschamp. And doesn't Muschamp have control over the defense to make decisions like that anyway?

It's just Finebaum finding something to fill air time with. It's really a Captain Obvious type of statement that keeps the Updykes tuned in (because it's not obvious to them).

Muschamp has control of the D and can fire whoever he wants. Will there be changes? Probably. Who? No clue.

I've never understood the fascination with having to hire guys that are connected to the school like Rocker or Garner. If anything I think it makes some of these guys feel like they have a free pass or they should be above criticism because they played there. What's wrong with bringing in fresh blood and a new perspective? I want the best guy for the job regardless of where he played. All this keeping it in house or in the family just breeds a good ol boy structure where growth stops occurring and self interest takes over.

If Garner had not played at Auburn, he would have been packing his bags last season after the shite show our defensive line put on in the Outback Bowl

Glad to finally know Finebaum is a football expert after all these years of thinking he was Jerry Springer

If the president was smart he would clean the AD out and start fresh. If only you were telling a fact.
