I know you know this, but that looked like a sarcastic response to a really idiotic post.

One of Bryan Matthews predictions for this season:
quote:

Linebacker Jake Holland has battled through a number of injuries to start 16 career games for Auburn but he enters his senior season with a lot to prove. He finished the spring on the second-team after a class conflict limited his practice time. I think he’ll win back his starting position and finish up strong
Ultimate facepalm...

Bryan Matthews is starting to lose credibility in my mind, after seeing this quote.

Oh, and the one about Trovon Reed... I don't agree with either of them.

Wide receiver Trovon Reed came to Auburn as one of the nation’s most highly recruited prospects in 2010. Injuries have limited his development but he enters his junior season healthy and in an offense more suited to his skills. I think Reed will more than double his 30 career receptions this season.

I think he'll have at least 30. Of course 60 is a stretch though.

Yeah I know. My response was more of an inside joke in one of my classes...virology was a hoot

Yeah, predicting Holland and Reed will finally do something significant when they finally have legit options battling for their spots seems like something that only the homers on the boards would predict. I could see Holland somehow getting back into the lineup, but by no means see him playing well. And we have a better chance at winning the West than Reed does at catching 60+ passes

I'm just anxious to see how the WRs do without troop at the helm. He was the master of having one producing WR. Sometimes I question how much hinged on coaching.

Quite a bit of a stretch.

Only Darvin Adams has hit the 60 mark over the past 6 seasons (2009).

Other's that were close...
2012 - Blake - 50
2010 - Adams - 52
2007 - R. Smith - 52

I think Holland starting is a safe prediction. But Reed collecting 60 receptions is a stretch for a lot of reasons

I think Matthews was saying Reed would double his career receptions, i.e. 30 -> 60

Maybe I'm reeding that wrong, though

That would definitely make much more sense.

I still think Reed has the chance to really break out this year. Last year was a wash for the whole offense and it's not his fault all his passes came as bubble screen with the defense on top of him in his RFr year. The kid is a fantastic athlete who finally started working hard(i.e. actually lifting weights) in just the last two years. I think he's got just as good a chance as anyone to break out and have two good years.

Quarterback Tucker Tuberville, nation's No. 1 punter added to Auburn roster

AUBURN, Alabama -- Auburn officially added two more players to the football roster in advance of the first football practice of preseason camp.

Walk-on quarterback Tucker Tuberville, who must sit out this season due to NCAA rules, and punter Jimmy Hutchinson are expected to be on the field when the Tigers start practicing at 4:25 p.m.

Tuberville, the son of former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville, will help the Tigers in practice on the scout team and says he would like to help with play calls from the sidelines on game days.

Hutchinson was ranked the nation's No. 1 punter by 247sports.com and Scout.com in 2013. He was expected to gray-shirt this fall, but received word in June that there was room for him on the roster this fall. He averaged 39.2 yards per punt at Harrison (Kennesaw, Ga.) as a senior. He also earned a spot in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl.

In other roster moves, the following walk-on players left the team in the offseason: punter Alex Locker, deep snapper CT Moorman, offensive lineman Joshua Parker and kicker Taylor Yancey.

You are just being nice

Say what you mean.

He couldn't catch 60 balls if they threw him 400

Time to move on from Reed. He is a bust

I was so tired of seeing #12 dive at the feet of ball carriers last year, it made my head hurt.

McNeal can play but he needs to learn proper tackling technique. Kid has game. Just needs to learn to use it
