quote:He definitely has the speed. He runs around a 4.3-4.4, and that's moving for a guy his size. His coverage ability is a question mark right now for us, since we haven't seen him, but he was said to be making progress by the coaching staff. He definitely seems like a better option than Kiehl Frazier back there, though.
Does King have the speed and coverage ability to play as a deep safety?

I know he played a Star type position in JuCo, so I'm not sure he's ever demonstrated an ability to play as a deep safety.

That picture really says everything you need to know about Whitaker under the Chizik regime. Hopefully he turns it around.

Who knows what we will bring to the field, but they all look like fricking tanks.
Except of course the Ostrich wearing the 54 jersey.

When you run preseason practices the way they should be ran you are going to have to deal with a few injuries. Chiziks style of limiting contact keeps you healthy but doesn't prepare the players for the season. Tubs ran physical camps and always had a few injuries to deal with but other than the occasional inability to complete a forward pass we looked like a football team when the season started.
I think this is a great point. Our players had to go through a more physical and tough camp to get their attitudes and work ethic changed around. Gus said it would be a demanding camp.

Right now I am worried our D Line versus SEC competition but I am not worried about them against Wazzu. Wazzu was 120th in the nation last season in sacks allowed so I am expecting the line to get pressure and sacks, especially when Carl and Daniel are in. Our O Line is very good. I am hoping for now that means oiur D Line is average. Average should give Wazzu's O Line problems.

Doesn't surprise me. Not as bad of a letdown as Gabe Wright though

Gave confuses me. He obviously worked his arse off in the off season, as he was one of the few players to get a green jersey, then practice comes and he hasn't improved much at all apparently. Very strange.
