Giving Keihl the benefit of the doubt and sitting some experience. Going by who's been mentioned by coaches in camp, written about, etc. Will be interesting to see who fills out the dime first game.

I agree with what you put.

I think people are reading into the Kiehl playing with the 2's a bit much. It seems like the coaches have a good idea who the 1's are, so they are going to let those guys play together. However, they wanted to see what Kiehl could do, so he plays with the 2's.

Secondary is definitely going to be tested in the first game. Hopefully Lawson has a field day.

I can imagine that Lawson will see the field as the pass rush is his strength and run support Is his weakness. He is going to light their quarterback up.

Also, I don't think Jake Holland plays in the dime so our defense should be pretty damn solid

They are going to be doing a bunch of quick passes. Hopefully we will do some good press coverage to mess up their timing some and let our DL get to the QB.

Unless whoever is in there on dime is calling wrong signals.

IIRC, last year when we ran dime, JGarrett was the sole LB. Though don't remember if this was ever utilized in a game. Do I remember correctly?

I have a feeling we're gonna run for at least 300 against Wash St.

I know I'm not making this up -- even if I don't know it as fact. Maybe it was preseason

He definitely played last year.

From his bio on AuburnTigers.com

2012 | Linebacker who was a reserve at sam ... one career start ... pair of tackles vs. Clemson ... recorded two stops vs. LSU ... forced an Arkansas fumble ... also had four tackles and a TFL against the Hogs ... two solo stops against Alabama A&M

The O/U is 52. If i could bet with my head I'd take the over with our secondary getting its footing...
My heart says 33-17 Auburn

I really want us to have a package that looks like this for front 6:

DE- Lawson
DT-Blackson
DT-Wright
DE-Owens

LB- Frost
LB-Mckinzy

Then Owens shifts back and we play a 3-3-5 and frick with people's heads

Just a head's up.

Nick Marshall is expected to speak tonight after practice. My guess is around 7-7:15 Auburn time.

I will try to remember to bump this post when the coordinators start speaking so people can get ready to hear or read what he has to say.

Was USCe running the Rabbit Package when EJ was there, or is this LWard's doing? Would not mind seeing a wee bit of that. Or like-creative packages.

I think we can get to nine wins. We may surprise a couple of others with a close game as well, and perhaps an upset. One thing is for sure, if we can pull 9 or 10 wins out this year--watch out next year! 13 days can't get here fast enough!

While very optimistic, I don't think it is unreasonable to think we can get to 9 wins (including bowl). Assuming Nick Marshall plays at an above average level and our D improves to average, this is how I see it breaking down

Games we absolutely should win

OOC- should be 4 wins
SEC-
Arkansas- I will name my first son 2Bs if we lose this
Tennessee- Butch is a shitty version of Gus and have less talent than us
Miss St- We are more talented, we stole one of the only coaches worth his salt and they are a dumpster fire. Oh ya, it is at home. Can't see us losing this one

Games that should be a tossup in our favor

Ole Miss- The key here is it is a home game this year which puts it in our favor. We should have more talent, we are playing at home and we were only down 4 going into the 4th quarter and tied at half. Game was close last year despite what the black bears suggest. I am wagering we improve more than they do and it is close

Games favoring other schools but we could upset

LSU- The away part of this makes it almost a sure thing we lose it. That said, they lost a ton of talented players, Mettsiah's progress is questionable, new offensive scheme and Les Miles somehow always manages to frick up games. We lost 12-10 to them and honestly should have won that game. Hard to say we are a absolute loss to them

Games we should lose

Alabama

UGA- THey lost a lot and Richt is coach but I don't see us pulling it out

Wildcard

Manziel and the Aggies- Hard to judge how that will end up with both how Manziel performs on the field and if he even gets the chance. This offseason clearly is fricking with him and I doubt he puts up numbers he did last year. THey lost a top 2 pick at OT which kept him safe and their defense lost everyone

That gives us 8-4 going into the bowl game
and assuming we lose one we shouldnt and win one we shouldn't
