It's very hard to get information out of camp this year. No one is at pressers to pull players/coaches aside to get a scoop. Recruits/High School coaches aren't allowed to the scrimmages.

The little we do hear from the players is seems a lot has changed on offense coming from both offensive and defensive players. What does that mean? I have no idea. Only thing really to come out was the offense kind of beat up on the defense in the first scrimmage. My take on that would be probably from no live tackling for over 6 months.

Any significant injuries so far in camp? I assume that kind of information would be released if so.

If true that the O is way ahead of the D, that is impressive as far as install by Gus and Chad with the new system. I am sure Bo played a huge role in getting things installed and drilling with select starters "off the books" between March and the beginning of fall camp.

That or we are running the same bullshite Gus system with Chad "calling plays" like Lindsey did.

Both offensive and defensive players were able to have meetings and walk throughs before camp started. Sounds like from the players that it's Chad's offense. I'm sure we will still see some of the same run plays obviously. Chad is a disciple of the Gus tree. My personal opinion is they let Bo do his thing this year. I hope that means around a 35 pass attempts per game and 45 rush per game.

Seth was a player that spoke to the press today.

Lost weight I think 13 lbs feels faster. Not Flash fast but lighter on his feet. His words.

All incoming freshman have a chance to get playing time this year.

Says Malcolm Johnson is fast but just getting started in the system. Thinks he will contribute this season.

Most Improved in his position group. Shed Jackson - much better hands and is a very good route runner. Follow-up question about break out season. Seth said yes look Shed to have a break out season.

Seth said no one is going to talk about the new offense that you will have to tune into the first game to find out.

Forgot one. Said Loy has a cannon. Throws very hard.

Marlon Davidson? Jeff Holland? Wut?

ETA: He has been the best developer of both NFL and college talent on Auburn’s staff.

Would be stupid not to play everyone this year since it will not cost a year of eligibility.

I was impressed with his perimeter blocking last year.

Average production playing out of position.

Muschamp recruit. If not for Willy we would have had zero pass rush since Lawson left, just like we has zero pass rush the two years Lawson was injured.

I think and hope it’s getting back to when Gus first came to the league and used all parts of the field. He was very good at keeping defenses off balance with screens, jet sweeps, corner routes, and then gutting then with a QB draw etc.

Over the years he’s become much more conservative and worrying to much about mistakes. Maybe he’s become gun shy, it happens, but hopefully Chad is the guy who will open up the field again for his offense.

Jeremy broke Gus imo. He was blindsided completely and other than some super human effort from Kerryon the offense has struggled ever since.

TBH, JJ blindsided everyone. Neutral observers at practice said he was lights out. Throw in the Arkansas game, and it was reasonable to think we were in a good spot.

He really was not. He could beat teams with a bad defense because he had good NFL type players like Ben Tate. Once teams figured him out in the latter half of 2009 it was over. He has been using those same bullshite plays for a damn decade now.

Go watch the opening drive of the 2013 Iron Bowl and tell me that is different from what we did any other year. Run up the middle, screen pass for no gain on 2nd down, throw it deep on 3rd down.

That’s actually good to hear. It’s usually the offense that’s slower to come around at the start of the season.

I think Bo really tried to be a leader in the offseason and some of the extra work put in will pay dividends. Thank goodness this wasn’t his first season.

Looking through that depth chart makes me really excited about our skill positions. Three wide of Williams, Schwartz and Stove has the potential to be one of the best groups in the SEC. Shed and Javarrius have breakout potential. The running back room is stacked. Shivers was able to add some weight after track season was cancelled. DJ has shown moments, but if he didn’t improve in the offseason Tank is waiting. MAR is healthy. Joiner has really good hands and hasn’t been used to his full potential yet.

Morris should be able to scheme around some of the oline deficiencies. There’s plenty of speed to hit quick outs, screens, slants, etc. If the oline comes together at all, we should be able to score plenty of points this year. All 5 OL would also be back in 2021.

Loy ahead of Sandberg surprised me a bit. Mainly just based on experience and expecting him to improve. Professional clipboard carrier and practice arm is his ceiling it appears.

Love Var Johnson huge fan. Still way under weight. The freshman especially Capers could have a very good season as a backup
