Several newborn kittens suffocate.
Current count is 8.

There's no freaking way that can ever eventually be a high enough percentage shot to not be a waste of a possession. McLemore yes. Spencer no.

Agreed 100%. He may have worked on the shot in the offseason but the results aren’t there. Especially a corner 3

RA’d for anchor. The pinned thread will work thanks.

Anfernee started out like 1-8 before becoming his hot streak started last year, at one time he was even our #1 3FG% shooter
Horace will eventually start making it. It will pay off

No he won’t. They’re inherently different players with different skill sets.

Wtf are you talking about? McLemore didn't have any more "shoot open 3s" skills last year than Horace does now
If Horace makes open 3s in practice, there is no reason he can't in a game

He's determined to make one before he graduates
His entire career before this season he had only taken 3 three point attempts, one each year. He's already taken 8 this season
He's 0/11 from 3 on his career now
Personally I think it's hilarious as long as he doesn't make any attempts that actually matter. I know I'll be cheering hard if he ever actually makes one.

If a guy can hit them in practice, I have no problem letting him shoot wide open 3s mid game
From a team culture standpoint, we've always allowed guys who put the work in to have a green light when open.
Are people suggesting we change policy to F over the Senior 'Mr Hustle' player who stuck around to sit on the bench? That's major Fd up
Should be noted At least 3-4 of Spencer's career attempts were shot clock forced

I’m okay with him trying them in blowouts. My fear is him pulling the trigger in a tight game and costing us a possession.

If he's open, he needs to shoot it

If the game is at a spot where Harper feels okay shooting from the half court logo, Spencer should feel okay shooting an open shot

This has never been a problem. Horace knows his role, almost too well in close games Passing up good looks

Exactly. One of his attempts last night the ball was kicked out to him from under the basket, and he was wide open with time to shoot. You don't not shoot in that situation. It wasn't a bad shot either, it almost went in.

He's getting closer to making it every attempt and his stroke looks solid
We just need him to be like DeSean Murray last season. As long as teams can't afford to leave him wide TF open we gucci

quote:They’re built completely different. You’re trying to make an apple into an orange. Horace doesn’t have it and you can tell every time he shoots an uncontested jumper. I understand Pearl is telling him to shoot it - but that doesn’t mean he’s got it in his arsenal.

quote:
“Anfernee is a 6-foot-7, shot-blocking 3-point shooter that plays center,” Pearl said a few minutes before ceding the podium to McLemore. “That’s a tough matchup.”
You will never see Bruce Pearl say the above quote about Horace Spencer.

That's funny. ALMOST went in...
Having never made one, i guess the odds are in SPencer's favor, huh?
don't care if he takes one early in the game to see if he can feel good, when one goes in, but no way I let him shoot a 3, late in a close game.
The problem is, the odds of it going in so far, is 0% and you now have just pulled one of your best rebounders away from the basket for an offensive rebound.
