Speaking of saving money

@RossDellenger Source confirms that #LSU DC Kevin Steele is heading to Auburn barring a late snag. AU, Steele* planning to split his buyout. (sorry)

Lance Thompson over Steele? The one who hasn't coordinated a defense in 10 years? You guys are hilarious.

Better than overpaying the guy who got fired/demoted at every other stop he has been at

I m stupid. Is a homerun no but its not a bad hire (if it true). He is a strong recruiter. He also a good teacher. He coach for some of the best in the business ( even little nick which am sure is your idol). Who did/do want? And where do you coach at?

Of course this hire is made because of Auburn ties. Kevin Steele's brother, Jeff, is the Director of Facilities at AU.

LSU is paying half of his buyout to get rid of him. This is embarrassing.
We are paying half of his buyout for the opportunity to hire him. Super embarrassing.

At least, I won't have my hopes up for next season.

I wish their was a seal pup outside so I could beat it to death with a rusty hammer.

This is a stupid argument. He may be better than Lance Thompson, who I wouldn't want as DC anyways, but we can hire any average coach for sub $1mil instead of hiring an avg Steele for >$1mil and guarantees

Would you pay $100,000 for a Toyota Camry just because it is better than a Honda Accord?

AUtigR24 was being sarcastic but he is right and so are you. If Steele didn't have ties to AU / Bama he wouldn't even be getting a sniff with that resume.

Jay Jacobs / Pat Dye win again.

Well, if looking at the positives, he and LT are fantastic recruiters. Maybe they can continue bringing talent in, an we all know Steele isn't going anywhere. So stability and recruiting, two of our biggest issues are taking care of.
