You seem to have forgotten Bryan Harsin pushing/firing Bobo and Derek Mason out the door and replacing them with his two buddies from Boise State.
you may have forgotten that he was “helped” into hiring those two clowns in the first place

Harsin was left to fail on his own terms, nobody told him how to run his program (as proven by the fact that he did nearly zero recruiting). Don't forget that Harsin was hired without the blessing of the "PTB" - they weren't involved with his program.
did the whole “internal investigation” that became public knowledge long before it was resolved not happen? do you think that would have occurred absent any booster “involvement”?

Harsin was a failed experiment as HC, but the entire offseason was setup for deliberate failure - he could have actually turned it into a positive (like Tubs did post-Jetgate) but instead decided he would play the victim card and force the PTB to fire him and pay him his buyout

not to mention the fact that he only got a shot at the job in December 2020 because those self same PTB tried to force Kevin Steele as Gustav’s replacement down our throats

Why tf would anyone want gruden? He has always been a very average coach and is well beyond his prime.

Gruden would be an atrocious hire. He needs to go somewhere like Washington state or UCLA where there are kids that will go just on name recognition. In the Deep South you better have connections to high schools and know where to go to recruit.

Luke Fickell was a hAUt name when we hired Freeze.

Dude is listed as on the hot seat alongside Freeze.

Do we still lust for him?

still dont know what happened with him

he really seemed poised for greatness, and i thought he and Rhule were the two homerun hires during that cycle

Rhule’s doing ok, but Fickell has been an utter disaster at Wisky

Correct, and that was the right move. Just like it was the right move to "help" push guys like Garner and Muschamp onto Malzahn's staff. Mike Bobo is currently the OC at Georgia and was hired by Kirby Smart - a "clown" indeed LOL. Mike Bobo was also liked by Bo Nix and his father, and Nix left the program shortly after Bobo's firing after a meeting with Harsin where they discussed future plans for the offense. Make of that what you will, but Nix most certainly didn't leave Auburn because of the fans being mean to him as some morons like to claim.

You guys seem to think this stuff doesn't exist at other programs, when it does. You can't field a G5 coaching staff at any SEC school, or Ohio State, or USC, or anywhere. If the HC at any of these schools tried that, they would be "helped" into other candidates.

Harsin was correctly given some SEC-level coaches, and when he ran them out of town they let him do what he wanted. Which was to hand over the jobs to Schmedding and whoever the WR coach was that he promoted to OC (I can't even remember the dude's name, that's how forgettable he was). And that HC/OC/DC combination literally proved why often times "PTB" interjection is absolutely the correct move. Just like it would have been the correct move for someone to have slapped Freeze upside the head when he came up with the idea of masquerading as the OC, but they let him go through with that as well.

just as often as it proves to be disastrous

case in point, the hiring of Freezus in the first place

They are both in very tough places to win. Wisky was a terrible fit for Fickell. He runs a spread in a corn fed/smashmouth state.

If they’re going to fire Freeze, it’s time to quit playing around, round up all the coeds in town that like their buttholes fingered, and send them to Corch Irvin Meyers’ house.
