When Shwartz broke that sweep? I remember Omac breaking LSU on a similar run.

No I meant what I said. OMAC was an out of bounds guru.

But I loved that dude.

Schwartz has a lot more agility, Omac could only run in a straight line, Schwartz was actually weaving in and out of the defense

Schwartz is faster also. Probably the fastest guy ever at AU and one of the fastest in NCAA football history.

“fastest ever?”

I suggest you go to youtube and search “Bo Jackson Auburn highlights” and report back.

Schwartz has run 100m in 10.09, Bo 10.39. That's a lot faster. In a 100m race on the track, I'd also take JF3 and probably OMac and Will Hastings over Bo.

That said, the best straight line speed may not translate to the football field...trade a tuned synthetic surface for grass, a featherweight skinsuit for pads, and track spikes for cleats, and the results may change. Further, a sprinter may or may not have the skills, durability, and endurance to play football.

That is a fact. No one likes seeing a man of that size running that fast at you. He was amazing.

Just glad we have several speed guys on the team.

Our defense looks so fast on the field. It's been a fun year.

Schwartz is faster than Bo was. Bo was 10.39 on his electronically timed 100 meter. (I have no idea about the wind situation).

Schwartz is 10.09 (with a 0.9 mph breeze at his back) and ran a 10.22 at the under 20 world championships (giving him 2nd place in the world). I can't find the wind situation for his 10.22 time (it was an outdoor stadium).

But, to be fair, Bo was about 40 pounds heavier, too. Which is amazing. Bo was the greatest athlete ever at AU, and probably top 3 of all time anywhere. But it doesn't mean he was the absolute fastest in the 100 meter.

For reference, Herschel Walker ran the 100 meters in 10.23 seconds in 1982 and also ran 10.10 seconds wind-assisted. So with wind, Herschel and Schwartz are neck-in-neck with Schwartz edging him out by 1/1000th.

With all that said, Bo didn't really train for track that much. If he did, I guarantee he would have gotten it down into the 10.1 range.

Bo did run a 5.49 50 meter which is incredible. The world record indoor is 5.56. So Bo was most definitely running his outdoor with wind, but still.

I think had Bo Jackson trained at running the 100 meters he could have been a gold medal Olympian. The fact that he ran an untrained 10.39 is astonishing in the extreme.

Edit: Typo

We’ll agree to disagree.

Maybe on a track, Schwartz would be faster but with 20 lbs of football gear, Bo wins.

But don’t trust me. Trust your own eyes. Enjoy
