forgive my ignorance, but are the rules really such that the base runner is better off breaking 2B off at the ankles? total horseshite.

Yep. UNC second baseman stood in front of the bag while turning two. Our guy slid into the corner of the bag and tried to avoid him. We get called for runner interference.

Maybe, but if we had a runner on base and the batter was the even run... the pitcher may have been more conservative

Well that was a terrible display of hitting. Our pitch selection was atrocious. Watched a ton go right over the middle and chased every breaking ball out of the zone. Hope our bullpen can hang tomorrow.

Got a bad feeling we let our opportunity slip by today. I guess the good news is they mentioned Carolina doesn't have much pitching depth and their top bullpen guy threw 5 innings today.

Our hitting has sucked all year, save the big hits in post season. We saw today what we are used to seeing.
