Draft value is 1.7 million. Who knows what he does
Yearly reminder that guys don't get drafted that high without the team knowing a set price and whether or not they can meet it (the Orioles can).

Sorry about Chris Davis.

I was seeing 2-4 round. 5th round is close. Don’t know why he’s want to take the chance next year. Someone offers him 10K next year after getting drafted, what’s he gonna do?
He likely signs, but there have been cases of standout seniors getting paid fairly. They do have some leverage, if they are good enough.

I try to think of Kick Six when I hear that name. Softens the blow

Do we expect Edouard Julien or Jack Owen to come back, or are they gone?
I'll just assume Holland and Davis Daniel will sign

They should be back. I haven’t heard if they got drafted but if it’s really late rounds it’s well worth it to come back.

Julien got taken in the 18th by the Twins, Owen in the 21st by the Cardinals. That's why I was asking
Also Elliot Anderson in the 23rd by the Royals, but tbh I don't watch the baseball team that frequently and don't recognize his name

LaRue turns down Blue Jays and is headed to Auburn
quote:
One of the top prospects in Alabama, Auburn signee Nate LaRue was projected to be a very high draft choice in 2019, but he was also a player who knew he had something very good waiting on him should he wind up playing for the Tigers.
That turned a tense and anxious situation into an easy one for the catcher/pitcher and while he eventually saw his name in the 25th round to the Toronto Blue Jays, he knew much, much earlier his future was on the Plains because he had a price tag in his mind and stuck to it throughout the process.
“It’s definitely an experience for sure,” LaRue said. “It’s one I’ll never forget. It was fun. I personally wasn’t very stressed. I think my parents were more stressed than I was, but it was a cool experience.
“I think the Pirates wanted to offer me in the 11th round, but I told them I was pretty set on going to college and not to waste their pick. The Blue Jays actually didn’t call me before they picked me. I was watching a movie and looked down on my phone and saw that I got drafted so I was like ‘oh cool’.”
The team that really wanted LaRue and ended up with him is Auburn. A dominating player for the 7A state champion McGill-Toolen Yellow Jackets, he hit .362 as a senior with nine home runs, 10 doubles and 37 RBI while adding a 1-2 record on the mound and a pair of saves in 28 2/3 innings. He struck out 40 and just walked eight while showing a fastball in the low to mid 90’s.
At Auburn LaRue will have the opportunity to continue to be a two-way player for the Tigers because of his ability to do both. He said that’s exciting to think about and he can’t wait to get started.
“To me it just means more possibilities to play,” the 6-3, 210 LaRue said. “I’m definitely excited to get up there and see what I can do and see where I can fit in.”
LaRue will join a program that has now been to back-to-back Super Regionals for the first time in school history and has a chance this weekend to advance back to the College World Series for the first time since 1997. He said that’s another reason he’s fired up about getting to school because he’s ready to continue that run towards winning the big prize.
“It’s awesome,” LaRue said. “It makes this decision so much easier knowing in the next two or three years we are going to Omaha and we are going to have a chance to go win the ring.”

Yeah those are late rounds and it's not worth it really. Unless they are dead set on going pro and not like school, they are coming back.

Our baseball program had to ride a bus 8 hours to North Carolina. They deserve better than that.

Players who attend a 4 year college have to either complete at least their JR season or be at least 21 yo. I assume they're both 21 bc I doubt an MLB team would pick a player that isn't even eligible to sign

MLB ruled that Julien’s one year of secondary school in Canada could be counted as a year in college I think.
