Auburn softball plays Colorado State in AZ regional

AUBURN, Alabama – Auburn’s softball team will play in the Arizona Regional, opening against Colorado State (36-10) at 8 p.m. CT Friday.
The Tigers, fresh off a run to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament, saw the news on the big screen in the Harbert Family Recruiting Center at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Monday night.
The bid marked the sixth consecutive regional bid and second in as many seasons for head coach Mickey Dean.

Didn’t know CSU had a D1 softball team.
CSU and CU don't have D1 baseball. Seems crazy for a state with a MLB team

We beat UNA 8-7 last night to end our home season. Down to red stick this weekend to finish the regular season.

Good news is LSU is a little banged up and do not have a single LHP on their staff. Need at least 1 to guarantee a spot in a regional.

Actually we don’t. Even if we win the series we’d still won’t get to host. We are pretty much locked in as a two seed regardless. Of this weekends outcome

If we get swept this weekend and don't win a game in the SEC tournament I could see us not making a regional at all.
If we sweep this weekend, and make it to the semis of the SEC tournament we would absolutely be hosting.

LSU had 6 straight singles in the 3rd after EA set down the first 8 batters in order. Ump made a bad call on what should have been strike 3 and the 3rd out of the third inning without giving up a hit and EA just couldn't settle down.
