Quality coordinator for the old boss is a bad position. DC must have a bad rap at this point. His recruiting skills are undeniable.

Or he was canned late and gunned for an OC position he's not qualified for, and no one had room for a hired-gun QB/WR coach that late

I never said they weren't. I just said he's overrated and wasn't the best recruiter at AU. He's been hyped by AU and LSU fans as being the end all be all recruiter, but he's not and by definition that makes him overrated.

Most of his recruiting reputation comes from signing Winston and getting some Mobile guys to go to Tallahassee over Tuscaloosa, which really isn't that big a deal when you think about it.

He did a killer job with that last WR class before he slid out the back door, but his overall body of work at AU is still overshadowed by Lashlee's and it would be a reach to argue otherwise.

His timeline is challenging but you make space for a guy that can recruit like he does.

Clearly there's a reason why someone didn't want to do that. Not saying it's a personality problem but he carries a high price tag for a position coach

If you want your staff to be stabbing each other in the back, and don't mind players who are coddled to the point of Winston/Duke, hire him.

Why anyone would wish that on their team is mystifying. He is a good (albeit somewhat questionable ethically) recruiter, and nothing more. He plays fast and loose with the rules. Yes, everyone operates in the grey area sometimes. He is comfortable in that regard, and is only concerned about CDC. His stunt in Pasadena was all I needed to see, to know who/what is important to him.

I was pumped when he came back to AU, but if you ever get anyone who has worked with him to talk "off the record" (aka, after a few cocktails), you will most likely agree.

Which "stunt" are you referring to in Pasadena?

Did DC help recruit Gatewood while at Auburn?

Regardless, because of his recruiting prowess, I'm not exactly thrilled he is at FSU.

Surely he isn't referring to Craig congratulating Winston after the game, right?

It IS a personality problem. He's a douchecanoe. Hopefully he'll do some self evaluation and figure out that he can either embrace what he's good for (gun for hire recruiter) or truly WORK at improving his craft as a true coach.

Ditching his players who had just lost to mug for the camera w/ JABO.

You know, the player he helped, along with Casher, cover-up their sexual assault?

Nothing alternative about it, but I don't need your assistance.

I don't want Craig on our staff and was happy when he left. It is clear he wasn't "helping" our team

That said

I would hope any coach who recruits/works with a player extensively and develops a close bond would be happy for any future success.

I agree it was weird how DC did it, he deserves some criticism. I'd hope DC was happy for any AU kid he recruited who found success too

DCraig was hired on Jan 03 in 2013.
The women met with PD Jan 10 in 2013

Unless you are suggesting he was moonlighting as a cover up specialist after his Auburn day job, this is some serious slander

If you think Lashlee as a recruiter was better than DC, you clearly do. Craig was the best recruiter on our staff

Not only backed up by recruiting rankings but also people who were involved with FB recruiting. Maybe people now have some revisionist history over being upset but while DC was here everyone acknowledged it

Where did I say Lashee was better than DC as a recruiter? That is some real alternative facts. That is stupid. Stove was all RL though. He didn't trust DC. It kinda depends on the kid, as to who he could recruit, and who he couldn't. If they had their hand out, DC was their man.

You can believe he had nothing to do with it if you want, but that, along with the Duke sitch have hurt him as much as his whining about not being promoted. He told at least one AL HS coach I know of that he was going to be the HC at AU after Gus. Lol. Not getting into a drawn out bitch session with you.

Good riddance to him. I wish his family well.

Must have been a mix up, the "alternative facts" comment wasn't directed towards you.

I'm not white knighting for DC here, the timelines just don't line up with DC ever being involved with the Jameis case and/or cover up.

I wouldn't necessarily put it past DC to do sometihng like that. Just saying in this situation, doesn't seem to add up

I agree with your sentiment of it being a positive to not have DC around our program anymore

See, we can agree. I am not the loose cannon that I am portrayed as.

I don't throw things out there unless I have good information.

Yes, I have been wrong that one time...
