Thanks for the reply JockMntnKittenSMD. Ole freeze made it sound like he was going to be pulling top notch tier 1 assistants and thats not the case. Here we are with the portal open and theres still no OC or DC. Sorry my question triggered you so much.

Yeah he made it sound like he had top tier guys lined up to coach. Here we are with some decent position hires, but still no OC or DC.

I mean having big name OCs or DCs may help auburn land some much needed help from the portal. 2 weeks in and nobody.

Yeah, and I knew many of you who are not keen on Freeze anyway to jump all over every little negative. That’s okay, you all have the right to and he put it out there so holding him to it is your right too. I was just trying to have a little fun with you about it.
I’m guessing our recruiting can move forward with who is recruiting right now and NIL is primed and ready, portal is open. I would like to see our coordinators in place as well, but I’m just not as worried over it yet. Maybe I will join you by next week.

Like you said at his presser he made it sound like he had everyone lined up to come. Maybe they are currently finishing out the season with other teams. I just think unless the kids know who’s coming, the longer it goes unannounced it could hurt with some recruitment

The OC is not a big deal outside of maybe he’s onto some good talent he’s been recruiting. Freeze is the offense. He knows what he needs and how to sell it. I’m more interested in the DC at this point. Does he know who that is and can sell it? Maybe, maybe not. I would like to see that unfold sooner rather than later.

As of yesterday he was slated to be the Senior Offensive Analyst and I don't think anything has changed at this point. He currently is on the road recruiting like a couple other off the field guys because we don't have our staff of 10 filled yet. Austin has been here since last week

I have no idea why people keep hanging on this like it means anything. It is more for optics than devolving any legitimate information. Hanging on what he says and assuming they are anything more than just promoting an atmosphere is silly.

I agree and I said it that night. What we as fans think of big names and what Freeze considers big names is going to differ.

Freeze didn’t have to say it but he did. So we are taking him at his word. Men should be taken at their word. I don’t see why we shouldn’t expect him to make above average hires at both the OC and DC spots.

Define big names for yourself and then define them for Freeze.

But I’m gonna give you and others shite when it presents itself. It’s part of the entertainment package I paid for when I joined here. We get good laughs about it all the time on the premium SECRant premium boards.

Good Lord y’all panic way too much. Who the fans see as a big hire may not be the same as Freeze sees as a big hire. There are tons of great coaches out there that most of this board has never even heard of.
