Surely he would keep Trovon on staff.

Pinkston says CB commit JC Hart is talking to Derick Mason a good bit. Pink says we are fine as long as Zac and Trovon stays. I think Trovon stays. Kendall may remain. I’d be fine if Kendall was our big dog OL coach if Luke doesn’t come.

Hopefully we can get TRob. He would be a nice blend of loyalty, stability, and splash.

TRob was a terrible DC though

Defenses at Scar:
116th in scoring -2016
99th - 2017
57th - 2018
104th - 2019
99th - 2020

Wouldn’t be happy with that hire.

CU is just such a weird school with what they want to do. They want to compete with the California schools, hence the move to the PAC. But Texas is where they should focus their attention.

Although it's interesting that Deion is going to the Patagonia capital of Colorado. And that's saying something.

In his final season at South Carolina in 2020, Robinson mentored defensive lineman Kingsley Enagbare, a first team All-SEC selection, and defensive back Jaycee Horn, a second-team All-SEC pick. In 2019, the South Carolina defense – led by first team All-American defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw – held its opponents to 20 points or less in five games. Sophomore cornerback Israel Mukuamu earned second-team All-SEC honors, while Jammie Robinson and Zacch Pickens earned SEC All-Freshman accolades for the Gamecocks in 2019.

In 2017, South Carolina led the SEC and ranked ninth in the country with 28 turnovers forced, while ranking 25th in points allowed per game at 20.7. The Gamecocks held 11 of their 13 opponents to fewer points than their season average. South Carolina also tied for 10th in the nation in turnovers forced with 27 during the 2016 campaign, including 15 interceptions

He is one of the best recruiters in the nation and can recruit Florida well. We don’t need a total defense Steel Wall. We need someone that can win the shootout with turnovers and sacks.

I look for Jackson St to talk to Carnell. They would be fools not to.

It would've been awesome if Freeze was able to announce the DC and OC hires on Gameday

There is some talk about Derrick Nix going on. Currently the AHC and WR coach at Ole Miss. This would be a very big hire.

Here's a good candidate for DC: Corey Batoon

Batoon is a native of Hawaii and is 54 years old.

This season he has South Alabama's defense ranked 12th nationally in total defense. Last year at USA, he was a Broyles nominee after setting various school records in defensive statistics.

He was Freeze's DC at Liberty during the 2020 season when they won 10 games. He had Liberty in the top 25 in most defensive categories and finished the season with Liberty ranked 10th in total defense.

He was co-DC for Kiffin at FAU and turned the defense around significantly in one season. (He was only with Kiffin for that one season. He returned to Hawaii where he got a job with the Warriors).

Prior to that, he worked for Freeze at Ole Miss for several years in various analyst/off-the-field roles. Freeze promoted him to an on-field role during his last two seasons at Ole Miss.

Prior to Ole Miss, he worked for Freeze at Arkie State as the DB coach.

He could be pulled from South Alabama without much problem I would think.

Fair enough.

How about Ryan Walters from Illinois? 2nd in scoring D (behind only UGA) and 4th in total D. He's a Broyles Finalist. He also coached at Mizzou before going to Big Bert's program.
