Don’t think the OC matters as much with Freeze, he always does his thing.
DEFENSE is where the budget needs to go.

Barry Odom as DC would be a great choice. He's the reason the Sam Pittman hire at arkansas is working out

Presser today, Hugh said a bunch of big name coaches have texted him with interest in coming to Auburn
Ohh boy

that caught my ear as well, and you could tell he was excited. i am hoping we have the same definition of "big name" lol

Odom’s defense was up and down. Looked good some weeks and bad some weeks. It might have been because of injuries?

Why would Chris Kiffin leave the pros and come coach against his brother. He returned to Cleveland because he didn’t want to move kids.
My guess is he will be a DC or co-DC

We’ll see about the big names. I hope so. But, just remember, a big name in his circles could be a Google coach to you and I.

Caddy did in fact want the HC job.

Cadillac Williams confirmed today he interviewed with AD John Cohen last week to state his case for the Auburn job full-time before it ultimately went to Hugh Freeze.

I doubt he's going to expressly state he didn't want to be the head coach at Auburn.

I’ll get downvoted to hell, but Hugh bringing Caddy along as Asst HC is a bad idea. If he starts losing a few games, watch out.

so firing the most beloved guy on the staff and then losing a few games would have been a smarter move?

He interviewed for the job.
People expressly state they don’t want the higher responsibilities all the time.
He literally says he is disappointed.
God, you’re dumb.

They are more concerned with getting our own fans to buy in to Freeze right now.

Of course he did. Anyone in his position, at his alma mater that just happened into his spot where he had a legit chance at swaying some people into his camp to get a life changing job at a place you love would want the job. Even if you disregard his feelings for the school, there's a massive jump from making $400k a year to being guaranteed several million a year, that's just what's best for the future of his family.
But it does say so much about the character of Carnell that he's not making a stink and from all reports is being as supportive as possible. He's really gone above and beyond what could have been expected of him and makes me love the guy that much more. He's placed himself firmly in the number 1 spot as the greatest Auburn Tiger in my mind at least.

I agree he wanted the title and pay raise. But many posts in the other thread speculated he didn’t want it or questioned whether he would want it. So that can be put to bed.

Caddy will learn a lot from Freeze and his time will come.

You will but I get what you’re saying.
I personally think the fans’ opinion doesn’t really mean shite. Freeze can win early with/without fan support. They’ll turn on Freeze or jump on the bandwagon based on your results.
The players are the important part. Can you get them to buy into the new coach? You are trusting Cadillac by keeping him on. His actions now mean a lot as the players are probably more loyal to him than Freeze. If Cadillac is in lock step with Freeze, then he’s a huge asset for Freeze and makes his job a lot easier. If he tries to do his own thing, he becomes a huge liability.
I’ve seen nothing from Cadillac that makes me think he won’t buy into Freeze but you never know when things don’t go right.

Don't see it because Hugh calls plays at Liberty. Hugh said at the presser he has gotten texts from some good coaches and he is thinking about giving up calling plays if he can land one of them.
