Don’t you remember the IHOB scandal a few years ago?

DL coach from Liberty was an assistant to Kiffin right?

They seem to be close. Kiffin was a GA at Ole Miss when Garrett played then coached with him at the Browns. Kiffin is a great recruiter. I think he was responsible for 3 5 stars while at Ole Miss.

But he has only been a DC once and that was at FAU. He’s mostly been a DLine Coach throughout his career.

I really don’t think it will be him. Who knows though.

I erased that until this moment. I’m blown away by the menu there. The chefs at ihop really take your palate on a journey through the sea and back into the log cabins of Appalachia in one sitting

No guarantees but he has a MBA, won the Chucky Mullins award at OM and spent some time in high school relating with kids. It's safe to say he has some qualities that would lend themselves to recruiting.

They were supposedly changing their name to international house of burgers.
I guess scandal was the wrong word because it was just a marketing campaign

Pancakes for supper would have been a W for me tonight.

Pro tip: for those that wake early in the morning while it’s 35 degrees outside: sausage egg and cheese breakfast bowl with extra sausage gravy @waffle house.

I call in before work, pick it up, and eat before work. The gravy literally warms my insides.

Back to a serious note, why does a DC have to be hired first?

People replace coordinators all the time without wiping out the entire staff on that side of the ball when they come in.

I mean, I get it. Makes some sense that a coordinator would want input if everyone is getting hired around the same time but other than that it kind of is unique circumstance

Wouldn’t mind Jake Spavital as OC if Hugh is serious about turning over the offense

No Google. Austudent22 posted it and he's pretty accurate. This is the entirety of what he posted

Coaching Experience:
2022-present – Liberty (DL)
2020-21 – Cleveland Browns (Asst. DL)
2019 – Vanderbilt (Defensive Quality Control)
2018 – Ensworth HS (TN) (HC)
2011-17 – Enworth HS (TN) (Defensive Coach)
2010 – Southaven HS (MS) (AC)

Garrett was a four-year letterwinner at Ole Miss (2004-07), earning All-SEC Academic team honors. He was also the Ole Miss Lifter of the Year and Chucky Mullins Courage Award winner. He graduated with a business degree from Ole Miss in 2007 and an MBA from Harding University in 2010. Garrett, who is a native of Senatobia, Miss., was a defensive lineman at Ole Miss while Liberty’s Head Coach Hugh Freeze served as a tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator (2006-07).

Would kiffin be a strong DC? Recruit well?

Chris was his brother’s DC at FAU his last year. Their defense was pretty solid and improved the entire season. From what I understand, he is a strong recruiter too. It’s possible that if Kiffin comes as DC, he could coach linebackers and split LB duties with Christian Robinson.
