If anyone wants the football related information from the presser or yesterday in general, I put it all in the fall camp thread. Lord save us from this offseason

Want me to start making rumors about players getting arrested and whatnot? That will make this feel like a more normal offseason week before gameweek..

This isn’t bait - pure curiosity: have you watched many of his pressers? Because from the moment he was hired I was pointing out that the motherfricker can talk a circle around you So far, he gives as much detail as Gus does but in 5x the amount of words.
I cannot agree with your last statement. I think he does give out more substance and info about players, the team, and football answers, but I think it gets lost, after he rambles on for another 10 mins.
And I also don't think he is doing this intentionally. I think it's simply in his DNA to explain, talk, explain, talk in his answers.
He reminds me of when I hear my wife answer someone, and I am hearing her bring in information or info she thinks is relevant, while I am thinking, she could have gone from point A to B a lot quicker without all that other information she adds to her answer. (I hope you don't know my wife, bc I will deny, deny.) :)

Maybe I do, maybe I don’t. What was her grandmother’s line of work?

Start a rumor about scrimmage mvp. Just leave out that he’s a walk on and the placeholder

“SCRIMMAGE MVP ARRESTED FOR _______”
Posted on 8/26/21 at 10:52 am to TheJones

I am already hearing that there may have been a bit of a fallout between two offensive players during the scrimmage, when things weren't going very well. Some infighting that coaches had to break up.

If my sauces are correct, it was between a prominent offspring of a former player and alumni and, our armored fighting vehicle.

Open thread to see if Coach is dead yet either via COVID or HIPPA violations. Exits thread.

That guy is a tool
This whole sequence has me convinced we live in a simulation. Let’s summarize it:
- Throws a tantrum about Harsin handing out hats to fans and the media because media members are supposed to be impartial.
- A week later releases his book that’s essentially named “Suckling at the Teet of Saban”
- Basically calls Harsin and anti-vaxxer.
- Reaches out to a recruit’s dad to get his thoughts on how Harsin is handling COVID in an attempt to write a hit piece.
- Then when he is almost directly addressed in a press conference, continues to double down on Harsin being opposed to the vaccine.
I feel like I’m waiting on Ashton Kutcher to pop out and tell me I was punked

120 people all getting anything is statistically unlikely.
I would bet that some teams are using creative reporting to gin up numbers.
Would they count not getting it against a player with a “history of reactions to vaccines?”
How about “religious objections?”
I was in the Army. Seeing slide after slide of 100% always worrying me more than the non-100% slides. People will stretch the definition of anything to meet a metric.
Ole Miss may just say, “check box A if you were vaccinated, if we get to 85% as a group we don’t have to test or forfeit games. Check box B if you weren’t vaccinated and wanted to be tested a lot.”
At least Harsin is being honest.
Should he go get training to give IM injections? That we he could tell the press, “I gave all of our players the shots.”

This may be true...but every team in the league already knows they are 100% vaccinated against the measles or they know they have the one out whatever it is that's parents were against that vaccine and got an exception. Again, getting 120 guys on a football team to do the same thing isn't that hard.
I'd say something along these lines to my team if I thought they needed to be vaccinated for competitive reasons.
“I think there's two issues when it comes to vaccines, First of all, we have a majority of our players who have gotten the vaccine, and we've given every player on our team the choice to do that. I think there's a couple things to consider. First of all, you have a personal decision, which comes down to risk -- risk of COVID, relative risk to the vaccine. It's the same thing. We don't really have a lot of knowledge about how this stuff is going to affect people in the future, so that's a personal decision that everybody has the right to make. On the other hand, you also have a competitive decision to make because you're going to be a part of a team. So how does the personal choice and decision you make affect the team?”

Whatever is said or not said will not change the truth to 100% of 120 are fully vaccinated. I would bet lots of money that there is a player at Ole Miss who did not get the shot or shots.
It is what it is.
Harsin has done all that I can expect a football coach to do. He’s brought in several people that have said, “get vaccinated.”
I guess some people want Harsin to hog tie each player and inject him.
Whatever.

This is true. Or coerce them with the implied understanding that it is expected for the competitive advantage is currently would create. Coaches have been doing that in a myriad of ways for generations.
