Fair enough. Harsin knows the media game.
He knows he typically has 30 minutes or so of time that he’s compelled to talk and he likes to fill about half of it with his opening statement. They’re almost always uninformative and he almost always uses it to cover the hot button topics broadly. It’s his intention. Plus he knows he’s going to get Phillip Marshall and Birmingham radio guys asking big picture questions that he can eat up more time with. It limits the rest of the media’s ability to dig for detail and keeps the ball in his court.
That’s going to continue until the media commits to being more granular. I’m guessing that improves when there’s actual games and plays to discuss. Until then, I’m just expecting more of the same.

I am pro-vaccine, took the vaccine, and constantly argue on Poliboard in favor of the vaccine.
Still, I find your melt weird. I don't give a shite if Harsin chose not to get vaxxed. What I do care about is whether the players are getting vaxxed (to avoid forfeits). I see no evidence Harsin is preventing them from doing so.

I'll restate considering you understand that vac is indeed the only answer to this situation.
I see a man who's anti-vac.
I watched a man dance around the issue.
I believe that is weak leadership.
I have concerns weak leadership will be an issue in our football program.
If you don't believe a coach being anti-vac is influencing conservative white males under 50 and black males under 30 from vacing for their team I'm not sure we have much to discuss. Especially considering our rivals seem to be crossing that hurdle easily.

What situation, a slightly worse flu, Vaccines are not the answer. I have my vax but its not the answer, I guess you believe we should all wear masks that do nothing to stop the virus. Its a virus you can get rid of it, just treat it better.

Don’t go away
Season is near and we’ll go more back to normal: bitching about backups, RB rotations, WR routes, and so on

Tell us in detail what it is Harsin should be doing to meet your good leader benchmark during these times?

Gus, is that you?
Your slip is showing.
... and I hate you missed a coach publicly pointing his finger in AL.com's direction.
But go ahead, that's what we're here for, get it off your chest. Just remember to button your blouse when you leave. . . brah

Coach Harsin is not a doctor.
He’s provided information and opportunity to the team to make a decision about whether to get vaccinated or not.
I don’t think he is allowed to force players to take a shot.
His comments to the press were documenting the litany of people from Dr. Goodlet to The University President who have spoken about the vaccine to the members of the team.
If anything, the comments and the information are pro-vaccine.
I had the shots as soon as they were available to me as a physician. We’ve got many hospital staff who still have not taken the shot.
Vaccine hesitancy is real, and it varies by demographics.
I highly doubt that Ole Miss has 100% of Their players vaccinated. 100% numbers are almost always manipulated. It’s only 96% of the physicians at our university hospital. I believe that number is accurate. The rest of the staff is 56%.
If our leadership team told me it was 100%, I would really doubt it.
Voltaire said, “to be uncertain is uncomfortable, but to be certain is ridiculous.”
I think Coach Harsin is meeting his obligations as a football coach. This whole thing is odd that people look at his comments and say, “he’s anti-vaccine.”

I mean what more detail did you want him to go into yesterday? It was a 30-minute talk in detail about the subjects that were brought up. He talked specifically about the hot topic of the day in detail (Covid/vax), then he talked about the captains and how they came to be in detail, then moved on to the OL depth chart in detail, QB’s, coaching stafff. Plan for the week, etc in detail. The only think he glossed over were specifics on what players and coaches were out with Covid, which would have been a HIPAA violation. He’s nothing like Mr. “Good Week of Practice” and “…in all of college football” who preceded him.
We’ve all lost our minds. Let’s give this guy a chance to coach and see how it goes.

To be fair...historically I support a coach too long. Thought I'd switch it up with this one. I would say I'm the first off but we already have major boosters off so I can't claim that but maybe first on this board.

I agree with this in principle, but getting an entire football team vaccinated doesn't seem like some Herculean task. How many guys we talking about 120?
