Now do influenza deaths this year

Since the novel coronavirus began its global spread, influenza cases reported to the World Health Organization from the Northern and Southern Hemispheres have dropped to minute levels.

As Scientific American reported in November 2020, the drop-off in flu numbers following COVID’s arrival was swift and global. Since then, cases have stayed remarkably low. “There’s just no flu circulating,” says Greg Poland, who has studied the disease at the Mayo Clinic for decades.

The U.S. saw about 700 deaths from influenza during the 2020–2021 season.

In other words.........
Just in Florida........more people have died from covid in the last month than people died from the flu in the last year for the entire U.S.. Mind boggling, huh?

Just normal logic would say that flu is being somewhat minimized by the precautions taken for Covid. IE, masks/social distancing/etc
I agree with you pretty much 100% with this but you wont win it here. Which is why its better not to even try. People have made their minds up. Its not real, its only political and its all BS.

WH Spokesman just a bit ago live about Afghan refugees.
But Coach needs to force our players.

Because this thread is like being lost in an infinite loop of our own making, where there's no off ramp, and the in-feed is controlled access only. Only difference is covid-vacc-avoiders seem to cast a wider net. But that also means they'll dredge up more shite.
Difference being personally, to me, a little shite isn't all that horrible a thing to wade through. However force feeding isn't on the menu and will never be.

specifically the MRNA vaccines have been injected into humans for about 30 years if by some odd reality they weren't safe we'd know it by now.
Talk about misinformation...

I mean, at least you’re consistent with your lack of understanding how flu numbers are compiled.

I mean, technically we have tested mRNA for a long time. It’s just never been able to get fda approval or authorization. Until the pandemic emergency.

Thats a pretty fricked up way to look at things dude. I mean really fricked up. I dont think there is anything "natural" about covid. And the two people who were seriously close to me that died from covid were not "naturally selected" by that stupid shite. One of them being a two term Vietnam vet who was drafted his first term the re-up/ed his second term. Died in 11 days from covid after being seriously healthy the past 10 years
Yea, I will leave this thread alone but there was nothing "naturally selective" about that fricked up shite

Talk about missing the whole argument at least that I am having? You sauced up?
People are arguing for choice in their healthcare. Choice whether they get vaccinated. An argument you yourself made. Arguing that a Head Coach although high profile shouldn't force the program to vaccinate.
quote:
Just normal logic would say that flu is being somewhat minimized by the precautions taken for Covid. IE, masks/social distancing/etc
You mean going from
quote:
646 deaths relating to the flu among adults reported in 2020, whereas in 2019 the CDC estimated that between 24,000 and 62,000 people died from influenza-related illnesses.
Logic would tell you that 2020 number is severely flawed.
In fact the CDC has issued directives to offer different tests for influenza and Covid for a more accurate test. You can bet there is a big reason for that.
Again, I got the vaccination, but that was my choice. I don't propose to push it on others just as you claim you wouldn't and I wouldn't expect a coach to force it upon the program he is over. That is what our argument is in here as far as I'm concerned.
What was the term you used with Jonesy? Oh yeah, you paint with a wide brush.

mRNA was first tested for Sar2 which has similar properties to Covid.
They repurposed it for Covid, but to suggest that means there should be no hesitancy for all Americans is ridiculous. People still die from the Flu vaccines each year.

Flu testing and yearly numbers are the most absurdly inaccurate things ever, even in years not involving the Covid getting all numbers even if someone had both. They are projected guesses at best extrapolated out to the entire country based on pretty small sample sizes. If you really dig into flu numbers compilation, it is hilariously absurd.
Posted on 8/27/21 at 6:00 pm to RockyMtnTigerWDE
Was it really approved for Sars2? I didn’t think it was. I stand corrected.

I'm in a car on my phone and to old to do the research that way. If you google it you'll find there have been Phase I, II and III MRNA vaccine trials dating back 30 years. The vaccines didn't gain approval because they didn't work and none have had safety issue profiles.
LINK
Technically, mRNA vaccines are not new. They, along with other RNA therapeutics, have been in development for decades, and many mRNA vaccines were in phase 1, 2, and 3 trials before the COVID-19 vaccines were created.
If you misunderstood my original statement I wasn't claiming the current COVID-19 vaccines were 30 years old. Just the technology. From a scientific perspective the tech isn't much different. So we do know humans have had the shot and are doing fine many years later.
The COVID version has been in the works since 2008 and was fine tuned this last year.

I agree completely and you can see it by the wide gap of minimum/maximum they use, but if we are going to use numbers thrown out then that is the basis of my argument only.
Did not mean to say mRNA was approved for sars2, but I believe that is when they started developing or around that time.
