If Deion can land the top recruit in the country at a HBCU with no drinking water he can most assuredly recruit players to an SEC school, with great facilities, and lovely coeds. Are you kidding me? If recruits were so passionate about HBCU history those schools would’ve been better decades ago. Recruits don’t go there because they don’t care about the HBC schools, they don’t go there because they don’t want to learn and work in BFE if a rich school can offer state of the art facilities and care. Hence why Deion’s success so far is shockingly tremendous.
If anything, you thinking he only did well because he was recruiting HBCU is evidence that you bought the pitch he was selling as well. He can sell ice to a snowman.
Unlike Muschamp or Meyer or Freeze that each have a lot of baggage that will eventually catch up to their recruiting, Deion’s trajectory is just now starting and there are no PR obstacles standing in his way.

Goose you can continue trying to minimize the aspects of Deion’s coaching record, but you cannot minimize his larger than life personality. He is JFK, Bruce Pearl, Bill Clinton etc with a larger than life personality that will always have his enemies and friends gravitate to him if in the same ballroom. The people you want are average and they’ll be nothing more than average. Average people, dime a dozen coaches.

Doesn't have to be the best, just far better than the drooling it we have now. I'm also certain Deion knows the importance of recruiting OL. You really think Freeze is a changed man?

Freeze or any of the other candidates listed will get their butts handed to them by Saban and Kirby. They may do decent and win 8 or 9 games a year and beat those two every now and again, but they won't be winning championships and they will lose the big recruiting battles.
We either want to compete to win championships or we are just happy beating Bama every now and then. If you want to win championships, you make a bold move and take a chance on Deion. You want to just be ok, you hire Freeze.
When people say Freeze is the safe choice, that gives me extreme pause.

Are we in bizarro world? How many kids top 5s did Jackson State make, but lose out on simply because of Deion? That, in and off itself is remarkable

Freeze versus Deion doesn’t count. Some people are so narrow minded in believing environments stay static that I’m surprised Mack Brown hasn’t been mentioned yet. It once worked before it must work like it did then.

Wake Forest HC should be in consideration.
Rhule should be in consideration.
Deion Sanders should be considered a long shot because there is no proven wins behind his coaching prowess
