The Tennessee fearmongering is currently being played out by anybody who is either not on board with firing Harsin or not on board with keeping Harsin even though with Harsin we already seem to be trending steeper downward to Tennessee.
Sigh.
Although Tennessee is on an upward trend currently, remember, we're nowhere near reaching full Tennessee at the height of their calamity.

If the bar really is 6 wins even that low number I can't see happening. I'd love to be wrong but after the first 4 games I just don't see it.

Your assumptions about me tell me
My assumption about you is you don’t pay attention to recruiting. Some of us have paid close attention to recruiting for years, for me since Tuberville. Recruiting is the only reason why I’m here or on the pay boards. If you think this thread (let’s say general discontent) can affect our program just a minuscule amount on top of the ineptness of our coaching staff then you are missing the forest from the trees. Discontent, pitiful recruiting successes, and trending toward apathy is where we are at right now.

Nah you missed the point about the effect this thread has, but I echo your concerns re: recruiting, see my post about bare cupboards.

I feel like Harsin has already had his chances of redemption. This thread was made after it’s clear Harsin’s days are numbered. Just entertaining the possibility of this thread affecting our recruiting then I’d have to assume all 10 of our committed recruits have kept their head in the sand except for here. More than likely the 10 remaining will remain with Auburn through the coaching change solid except for Terrance Love.

Not defending Harsin or saying he hasn't had his chances. I am saying, let's just not make the situation worse for our school Fricking WOOSH. I am sorry that I rustled your jimmy this morning. Let's put it behind us.
It's not about the possibility of this thread affecting recruiting. It's fans and media in general with this 'Auburn is a dumpster fire, Auburn is a dumpster fire, Auburn is a dumpster fire, Auburn is a dumpster fire, Auburn is a dumpster fire, Auburn is a dumpster fire, Auburn is a dumpster fire, Auburn is a dumpster fire" attitude that does NOTHING to help the school in the future, with or without Harsin. What does that signal to high school kids and potential HC's?

I agree. Harsin is done, he knows it already

Word around the campfire is 6 wins and Harsin is staying
Chances of 6 wins are tiny, so I'm good.
That being said, if "6 wins and he stays" is true, it would be all because of $$$.

I don’t know about all the dumpster fire stuff but this is a message board lol. Aka Sir this is a Wendy’s”

I don't even understand what the Tennessee fear mongering is supposed to be anymore. They went through 3 completely shite HC's in ~10 years until they finally hired the right guy and he has them ranked in the Top 10 in his second season on the job, with a Top 10 recruiting class as of today.
Firing bad HC's doesn't hurt your program. Tennessee literally just proved that.
Tennessee should actually offer hope. All it takes is one good hire. It starts with sound leadership at the top, which is what it appears we finally have right now. The end-game Malzahn decline and Harsin nightmare is all the by-product of the turmoil of Leath and then Gogue not leading this program properly.
I mean, you're just talking common sense here. Unfortunately, many people lack that one trait.

Roll tide in this bitch, let's go get lane.

Not just these days.
Auburn's all-time record against Tennessee is 28-22-3. And that includes playing 13 of our "home" games at Legion Field in Bamaham.

It's not true at all. No idea where that even came from and it makes zero sense from any perspective. In fact, the "call" on Harsin has more or less already been made - he's toast.
Why would 6 wins save him his job? A brand new President and AD aren't hitching their wagons to a clearly incompetent coach they inherited (who no one likes) who wins 6 games in each of his first two seasons and is clearly regressing the team. At 6 wins, recruiting is still going nowhere and next year's team is probably even worse than this year's team and he's still on the hot seat LOL. So what exactly do you accomplish by keeping him under that scenario? Nothing.

I agree with Meta that Tennessee shows hope is there even if we did become Tennessee.
The fearmongers act like we are checking the boxes to becoming Tennessee. What is the blue print to becoming Tennessee? I’ve seen Harsin fans claim we were becoming Tennessee. Bama fans think we are heading for Tennessee. Auburn fans that want wins think we are becoming Tennessee. If there is a blueprint every AD would have it and inverse it until they become their own Tennessee. You would think worst case scenario is we hire another Harsin and then the boosters say “I’m sorry but there is no more money left.”

I trust we can make the right hire before reaching the depths of hell UT did. They had Lane quit on them after 1 year, then the Pruitt fiasco. We aren't that far down

Whiney Auburn beat writer Justin Lee firing back at McTat after Al.com refuted Aj’s claims. Did the Rec think they went too far yesterday?

Please @10AJMcCarron expound on how you managed to arrive on the idea that Auburn is a "middle-to-lower-tier SEC school" without looking at revenue, spending, facilities, all-time wins, market visibility, or any other metric that matters

It will be purely $ talking if Harsin stays. He has zero trending in a positive direction for the program. We'll just be holding on until someone with the checkbook has had enough.
Posted on 9/29/22 at 11:42 am to jangalang
Maybe I took the comment wrong, but it didn't feel like he meant mid sec program historically. It's hard to argue we aren't lower tier currently. I mean, Kentucky is a top 10 team.
