Agreed. Remember the last time a coach wanted to wait to coach one more game before coming to Auburn? Look at what he’s done…..I think if Dabo wants the job then we wait.

Franklin got an extension last year that put him at 8 ish million a year for 10 years.

How much more would we really want to pay and commit to?

I think Cohen is about to get backlash like he can't imagine.

Who do you think/hope we are going for? Seems like the bigger names are gone now - Kiffin, Rhule, Fickell.

Lanning, Freeze, Muschamp - all would do very well at Auburn for a long time.

Go back to Kiffin. Offer a lot to Ryan Day. Norvell with new staff.

I could live with Dabo after all else.

Brian Johnson is intriguing, but too much risk for me.

You had me until Muschamp. I think he’d make a great DC but his ship has sailed as HC. Like the rest of the high aiming though (less Freeze)

Thought he signed extension. Pretty sure that ship sailed (or sank, depending on how you view it).

Will Muschamp is a horrible HC and the analytics all support that conclusion. He has failed miserably at two SEC stop already.

Anyone seriously pitching that as a move to be considered should just excuse themselves from these discussions.

I had thought the same thing until a buddy of mine made the pitch for him at the WKY game. He was pretty convinced that Muschamp could succeed at AU based purely on the support from the $ peeps and spending $ on a staff.

That's was my reaction too, but as we stumble through the candidates, I'd take a Muschamp over a Lashlee.

Your buddy is an idiot. Coaching a football team is very very hard at this level. Anyone who thinks that you just throw money in one direction and therefore the incompetency of the HC goes away does not understand the difficulty of succeeding in this profession.

This guy! This guy would rustle some jimmies, and win some damn games. Sure, we may have to help him recover from his heart condition, but if you want a winner, there he is. Oh, and he’s currently available.
