Little bit different situation than those years. Mr. Potato Head’s disaster made the PTB wise up and see that the program can’t just carry mediocre coaches to the promise land anymore.

At State…there’s a reason why he left for Auburn. He did end up hiring Leach, which is a homerun for State standards.
Plus, Cohen already stated he wants someone who has recruited in the South. NFL coaches don’t recruit at all, much like Mr. Potato Head.

Bingo. This isn’t your normal coaching search. We’re a 5 win team with a depleted roster and terrible recruiting class. This hire is who can win 8 games next year to stop the bleeding

It's Kiffin, stop speculating. No extension signed 24 hours later. We offered significantly more cash. Hiring ceiling. New facilities. NIL already doing work. He saw Gus beat Saban more than 9nce. Saw Harsin damn near do it. The timeline is what it is, to show Cadillac respect, in order to retain him. Plus, we won't let his DC of choice walk over a few bucks. After the fun of the light show and his son using a fricking fire extinguisher wears off those will still be the facts.

Trask didn’t even start in high school. Who cares. They got a lot more out of Trask than anybody else on the roster.
Johnson was OC for Florida in 2020. It’s not like he has always been some lowly bum. Once alpine comes back from his two week ban he might tell you he isn’t a bum.

But Hoke has already said that his gut is telling him we (and Kiffin) aren’t waiting for Caddilac’s irrelevant game. He believes it’s a Kiffin delay aka ship mightta sailed.
