If Kiffin were going to sign the extension wouldn't he do that between now and the kickoff of the Egg Bowl?
Do they have to announce if he signed it?

He could be pushing for more money on both sides or even just one, could be all about the timing to announce that he's staying (just like everyone claims he is with Auburn), he could not have his mind made up, he could he holding out for more NIL donations, etc.

There could be more on it on the OM side than to just rush and sign it. Since we are all going on speculation, Auburn may be having 2nd doubts.

No one knows.

You can bet your arse they would have already announced that. Why wouldn’t they? They still could before the game tonight, or Friday morning. Who knows? I’m willing to bet if it was signed, it would be announced.

Exactly. Mark Stoop’s new contract was signed that morning and announced that afternoon.

It would leave Auburn hanging, and they could use it for momentum to pick everything up if they lose to state. I'm not saying he's not leaving but they can use it other than just announcing last week and it doing nothing for them. The recruits aren't leaving and the fans will completely jump on board when he signs back up. Plus with Kiffin he does stuff just to be a smartass if nothing else. He remembers Auburn left him out last time.

This makes literally zero sense.

If they lose to State, then that means they have closed out their season with two losses to Arkansas and MSU - both teams that are universally seen as inferior to them. Remember, Ole Miss was on track for another 10 win season.

Under the above scenario, Kiffin's "antics" and non-commitment to his team would 1000% be used as a major factor in the narrative as to why those losses occurred.

So basically, you seem to think that they have an agreement for him to stay, but they're choosing to lose games and cause major distractions leading up to their biggest rivalry game, after getting embarrassed a week earlier, all so that they can "leave Auburn hanging"?

No, that isn't what is happening at all LMAO. If they lose vs. MSU and he announced after the game that he's signing his new extension, their fans would welcome him back...but dude, he has ruined their season, and that isn't something that will just be laughed off.

He also made it. The Kiffin fans on here have already made him out to be the GOAT so without him they would have never been.

There is always more to the story and likely isn't as simply laid out as his fans are hoping.

There is little to nothing in all these stories and claims OM is hard looking for a replacement. OM has nothing to gain by keeping quiet (even with letting him coach the state game) when they see he is so obviously leaving for Auburn and they know way more than any insider. So he's likely lying to someone and if he's lying to OM then he's lying to alot of people and they aren't worried about the unsigned extension. On the other side all we have is our insiders spinning in circles and naming random backups all hanging on him not signing anything meaning he's Auburn's.

I don't see what this response has to do with what I said. It really isn't hard:

1) He has an offer from Auburn and is believed to have an agreement in place to take it (hence the Miss TV guy leaking it).

2) He's had a raise/extension on the table from Ole Miss for a week now. He has not signed this.

3) He has made vague or "weak" comments to his team suggesting that he hasn't accepted any offer from any other team.

There is nothing for Ole Miss to do here other than wait until after today's game to find out what his actual decision is. They are not going to fire him and thus lose out on the buyout of his contract that they would receive if we indeed hired him.

Everything else you said about how it might make sense for them to "hold off" on announcing that he has signed his extension is nonsense lol. They are losing games and their fanbase is bleeding. They are about to play their rivalry game and their players have no idea if this is going to be his last game with the team. Again, if he already knew he was staying, this would be announced prior to this game so his team would be fired up and ready to kill MSU tonight.

The real "scenarios" here are either that he has in fact already decided to leave for Auburn and he's just sandbagging to bide time until their season ends, OR he hasn't made his mind up yet for whatever reason. I don't think there is any real scenario where supposedly he's known he's going to sign that extension, but for some stupid reason he's waiting and risking that they lose to MSU because the team is distracted LOL.

This is just a lazy and false dig.

I don’t think anyone considers him the goat. He just looks to be the best hire for Auburn at this time and hope he becomes the goat, but you keep on with your bleeding all over the board.

I noticed you toned it down last night with all the news Kiffin was staying and freeze might be the guy.

Like I said, OM isn't making moves like they are worried he won't be back. If they were as sold he was leaving as for Auburn they wouldn't wait just for the egg bowl to end to open up a search.

As sold as everyone is he's going to Auburn, signing the extension is not going to stop anyone from thinking he wouldnt still leave. There is no rule that if you sign it you have to stay. So the media would still be all over him to Auburn.

I'm just saying there is more things that could be going on that he hasn't signed it and not just because he's 100% going to Auburn.

Raberns making false accusations is certainly disappointing. We like Kiffin because he exceeds the lowly standard of Freeze, the guy at Liberty still for good reason.

That’s it.

They aren't sold he's gone and basically making fun that we think it's a given he's Auburn's. They toss a few names around that they should look at if he does leave. They don't seem sold one way or the other.

Baggage not coaching. So don't try to spin it into people not wanting him because his coaching. His Liberty team did beat the same Arkansas team that embarrassed Kiffin's OM team. That says enough.

I'm sorry Lane fans feel the need to jump out with their fist out every time someone doesn't say Kiffin is 100% to Auburn. Then start down voting because they can't handle the thought of him staying at OM.

1. Those were two different Arkansas teams get real.

2. If Poor Colorado and Nebraska aren’t desperate for Freeze then that should tell you plenty.
