About Grimes, we have never hired someone with no head coaching experience. Everyone think that would change now, of all times?

The media will create what ever narrative to smear AU no matter who is in charge.

Don’t act like any of these coaches are choir boys… from laying down on the job after executing high pay contracts at the least to paying off relatives, house sitting gigs and covering up domestic violence incidents on campus they are all dishonest in their own way…. It’s time to embrace the black hat and stop with the lily white do it different bs Bc it doesn’t work. This is a dirty business, okay on the level or don’t play at all… don’t waste our time and resources

Cheating is something every coach and every program does to an extent.

Creeping out high school girls by having them change shirts in front of you, banging prostitutes, and dm’ing sexual assault victims is not something anybody should look past.

1) He is a piece of piece of shite person 2) He has terrible judgment off the field which will come back to bite him professionally.

Hopefully Hugh is content swinging with the Falwells on some yacht somewhere and never comes close to AU.

Freeze is a good fallback option for Auburn.

I keep coming back to this.

If Auburn is finally aligned and we’re the top school in the market, I want to aim way higher out of the gates. It doesn’t seem like anyone is beating down Freeze’s door right now anyway

Well yeah but at least make them fabricate a narrative instead of handing it to them on a silver platter and letting them be right for once.

This. If Freeze is hired at Auburn, the media will be absolutely relentless from the jump and half the fan base will be against it. I guarantee you Thamel and the likes will find some high school students and coeds that are willing to tell their Creepy Coach Freeze stories. Plus, him messaging sexual assault victims like a fricking moron.

It very well could be a situation where he is hired and immediately fired due to backlash and dirt uncovered after the fact. We need to avoid this at all costs.

I don’t see how you Freeze supporters don’t see this coming, because it most certainly will.
This is exactly where I’m at.

If we’re going to hire a depraved scumbag as an HC, why not hire Urban Meyer? At least he’s actually accomplished something on the field.

And I guarantee that Freeze would never have the complete support of the PTB, much less the fanbase, which is what everyone says is so critical to our success.

He’s not an option. If we hire him it will be a complete disaster for our football program. Period.

Sure as hell better be…. $men need to get this right instead of settling for a “great value brand” HC that will get $28 mill total after we can him in 2-3 years

Same deal.

Gentle reminder here that we really only know about the obvious candidates for this job. Auburn is also going to look at/interview non obvious candidates as well — most of which I doubt we learn about soon.

I don't think for 1 second any of them are saints. But would you rather spend 50000 for a truck with a blown engine or 50000 on one with no issues? I'm saying it's dumb to spend the money on someone who keeps screwing themselves with stupid choices when you have others that don't have that problem. I don't have a dog in the fight but I think it's a stupid business move for auburn to pursue freeze. Like others have said the negativity will start the moment hes hired

On the flip, with the track record many of you claim he has, wouldn’t you think if he tripped up again at AU it could be for cause thus negating an entire contract? Baylor is sitting fine in the aftermath, Oklahoma wasn’t lambasted for its woman abusing RB years ago, Saban laughed off his player battering a woman at a game on film and did nothing…… I know for a fact of another internal AD issues with a FB HC’s at another SEC institution that would make bill Clinton blush.

Said there are talking between Lanning’s reps and Auburn. Said he has interesting in coming back south but his buyout ($14 million) and the fact that Phil Knight likes him will make him tougher to pull.

Nothing new on Kiffin and likely won’t be until later. Kiffin’s main focus now is beating bama which likely gets them to ATL. Auburn fans that want Kiffin need to hope that doesn’t happen.

Believes the pecking order to be Kiffin, Lanning, everyone else.

We’ve had such shite coaches and contracts recently that we’re considering being able to void Freeze’s future contract when he fricks up again as a win for Auburn Jesus Christ, guys. We need nice things again

I really think they take a hard look at Urban Meyer. Don’t know if they’ll pursue it, but I bet they at least do some vetting.
