It took Tennessee 5 coaches to get to someone who is proving to be decent. Let’s not forget what Malzahn did his first year here. There is never a sure fire, hire. Why not take a chance on someone who is going to give us national publicity immediately?

Want to follow that model, huh?

Hiring a guy with 2 years experience coaching, has the potential to make what TN did, look like the good ole days.

Seriously, I think Sanders is smart enough to know that he isn't ready for this kind of jump. He'll end up playing it off as being true to his HBCU stuff. More power to him. He seems to be a good guy, but the risk to him is almost as great as it would be for us. He fails miserbly, and his career is over. He's safe at Jackson, getting all the media attention, beating up on low/no talent teams, and continues to cash those AFLAC checks.

False. I have proof of defending Heupel last year while he was getting blown out by Bama last year. Note: I’ll never defend Harsin’s coaching
Whatever, Mr. Schrute. People defended Harsin too. What you failed to address was my statement on Harsin and Heupel being equally well known.

Heupel was about a well known as Harsin was.

You are so full of it or don't pay attention to college football as a whole.

Here is a clue. Take a look at a team that you like one year or grabs your attention, i.e. scores points etc or has a lock down defense or secondary. Then start looking at the people who coach them, not just the HC. Heupel was on Stoops' staff as QB and Co OC. So then see where he goes next and what he does. See if they are good that next year or two...then you know there is talent there. May not be the best recruiter but you know that is how you evaluate talent. and use that talent.

Heupel was that kind of dude.

Idk. If he doesn’t work here, it’s it was too soon for him and he will go to an app st or similar program and kill it there. Then have more experience for the big program. I just personally think he has the highest ceiling out of anyone and someone who could come and completely change the way we are seen in the public eye while bringing in recruits we haven’t seen…ever.

Some folks have “it” and some don’t. Deion has been successful in everything he has done. Your argument that he just isn’t “proven” doesn’t hold water. He wants to DOMINATE. He not only SAYS IT, he DOES IT. I get some just don’t like his trash talking but he has always BACKED it UP.

Malzahn jumped from high school to college ball. Him choking away high school championships should have been a sign of who he was. Hell, he almost choked away Chizik’s natty with his shitty play calling. The defense played lights out against Oregon.

Malzahn gave us good moments but he coached scared a lot.

Deion won’t be denied, wherever he ends up. Minds like his don’t fail. He has IT.

A lot of coaches have had the “IT” factor before and failed miserably. New AD isn’t going to put his balls on the chopping block for someone with no experience. It’s going to be a safe hire.

No such thing as a “safe” hire. Impossible.

I FULLY believe Prime will end up being a HOF coach.

And it doesn’t matter to me personally where he ends up as I will keep up with him either way.

Harsin had a good record at a lot bigger school with wins against better teams before Auburn hired him too.

Ask UF how their 77% win coach is doing after jumping to the big leagues.

Harsin never DOMINATED. He would get blown out at times.

Harsin doesn’t love his kids. Prime surely does. He not only loves them with tough love but he knows how to TEACH and LEAD them.

Prime’s defense is giving up less than 10 pts per game

Texas A&M losing again. That's a bigger mess than even Auburn right now. Jimbo's buyout is $86 million

The teams he's played as a whole have only won 38% of their games this year. The team he barely beat last week 22-17 got blown out by Liberty 48-7. So he's not dominating quality teams or to a level that others havent.

He has the #9 recruiting class and beat a pretty good Utah team. I say he’s doing alright in his first year.

I'm sure they would much rather be winning games than have a high ranking recruiting class. Gus was in the top 12 every year he was at Auburn until his last.
