Freeze and Kiffin are well above anyone. Hopefully we wouldn't get to a spot where we are vetting Prime.

He has to get who he can get to come to JSU. Not exactly a top destination for established OCs or any P5 assistant for that matter.
He would be able to get better talent as far as assistants at Auburn.
Prime did get Gameday to come to JSU next weekend for the first time in history

Prime is going to leave the SWAC in shambles if he leaves this year, that's all I know. From super high to super low. Unless those guys get away with getting big numbers against mediocre opponents while staying injury free is the new best route to the NFL.

They can still fix with a coordinator.

He calls the plays on the Offensive side, not allowing for his OC to make any adjustments

Yes, it will be interesting to see if he can admit that his whole professional life has been a failure and turn the keys over to someone else.

I'll allow it. I have no idea how it would turn out / if it would be good/ bad. But hiring him would take a tremendous amount of effort and would look good for AU. Would prove that we have joined the club of "go getters" in the SEC.

IDK how those boosters are going to get him out

Jimbo's just making bank and they can't stop him

His record speaks for itself. He's 54-16 at Cincy and half those losses came his first season in 2017. He's shown himself to be a consistently good coach.

Guy at a mid major program, with a good record, but no recruiting ties to the SE? Sounds familiar.

If only we knew how that one ends

This isn't true. Fickell spent like a decade recruiting the SE while at Ohio State. He pulled some big players out of Florida specifically and has some connections there. 4 players in his current class at Cinci are from Florida.

Yes he's never coached in this region, but he's not the same as Harsin and he does have an understanding of recruiting (again, having come from Ohio State - a school that recruits like an SEC team).

Agree with Meta here. Fickel has seen recruiting at the highest level. tOSU does well in the SE and he recruits our region at Cinci still

Not sure he’d come here.

I'm really shocked he wasn't in the mix more for Notre Dame?

Me too. They we’re obviously super impressed with Marcus Freeman and, maybe more important, his ability to keep everyone together. I think they thought they could keep that train going.

Fickel is a Ohio State guy. That job isn’t coming up anytime soon. I’m sure he’d he attracted to Michigan and there no telling what Harbaugh would do. Other than that, I don’t see any natural jobs for his upbringing and experience

If Harbaugh breaks through this year, beats Ohio State, maybe he stays for a while? It's trick because he played there. I'd say Michigan State but they're tied to Tucker like A&M is Jimbo. I could see Notre Dame being the first to open again, but could be a couple of years. Could he sustain Cincinnati long enough, or does he strike while the iron is hot and jump somewhere? My concern would be what you said, as an Ohio State guy, why wouldn't he jump when it does open?

Would he be interested in Penn State if Franklin left?
