Well, to be fair the Greene resignation did come as quite a shock to everyone.

It looks like it's happening. We'll fire Harsin after the Iron Bowl. Then start from ground zero with an official search committee then have long drawn out interviews. Then Chris Klieman or Jeff Lebby will be named head coach the day before signing day (couldn't force myself to write Lashlee).

My thoughts exactly! Greene's contract was up. The only people surprised by our AD leaving, was the fans not privy to the inside working of the athletic department. The PTB knew Auburn was going to have an open AD position long before we all did. And here we sit, 6 weeks into the season, and still no AD is hired, and a lame duck coach at the helm of our football team. I honestly don't know why any recruit would sign with Auburn right now. This could not be handled any worse.

Jhead says on On3 that he thinks Nunez might be a smokescreen for an AD hiring better than him and Hartwell.

Apparently Mark Murphy said “don’t believe everything you hear” regarding Nunez as well…

Why the hell would we want Sankey involved? The guy who lets Saban blast Fisher over recruiting for a day, but when Fisher hits back puts out a gag order. Screw Sankey and his non southern Sec teams

Well, our last AD came out of Buffalo. Is New Mexico a step up?

Seriously, with the money and resources available at a preeminent school like Auburn, we settled on a no name AD and a no name HC the last go around.

Damnit, usually when Mark says something like that you know what it means. I'm so gunshy right now I can't even trust that.

Mark is the nicest best reporter working for Auburn and doesn’t sell for clicks. If he says that believe it.

Isn't Jay Jacobs at Florida now? Why aren't we hiring him back?

Was Nunez the AD at LSU or Florida? That's akin to Florida hiring the shark fricker because he coached at Alabama.

He’s been there the last few years…. When UF has been a nothing school

Jacobs didn’t deserve to catch strays here. Y’all keep him out of this

I'd honestly take Muschamp over Lashlee and Grimes... Probably get the same results long-term but much more entertainment

I present to you a guy that knows how to operate the AD like a business, not JABA family politics, plus he knows the south, and you still bitching about something. smh. Not only that he’s not even a real candidate, apparently. So whatever!

What other candidates are more realistic and better?

JHead thinks we might be after someone better than Nunez but let’s bitch about Nunez anyway!

I don’t think the AD search is as cut and dry as football HC searches. Bama hired a guy from Arizona just because his basketball teams improved.

Recruiting would be infinitely better under Muschamp.

Recruits families would look at a coach who has failed twice in the SEC and want to play for that? I doubt it.

I question the overall longing to win and the mental wits from any Auburn fan that mentions Boom. They lost all grip to reality and clinging to memories of a DC.

I stand corrected on Nunez working for Florida’s AD. He was only a player and grad assistant there.
