I've often wondered if AU did hire him back then would he have left AU for UGA?

I guess we will never know

Probably, and with Jay Jacobs brilliant negotiating there would have been no buyout

Hindsight is 20/20 in my case, but TT’s wanted Kiffin bad two years ago and we should have went that route then. TT’s should have been a billionaire board member so someone would have listened.

I was on the Lane train when Gus was rumored to arKansas.

12/3/2017 I wanted Lane

9/23/2018 Again, liked Kiffin

What happens if Kiffen goes 0-4 against Auburn tomorrow? Does the Lane train leave the station?

Is there a reason why you don’t care? It’s not like we got Kirby coaching for us or are two tiers above Ole Miss talent. At some point Lane should be judged for how he performs against his peers and he hasn’t won a top 10 matchup since 2011.

Ouch, thanks for the clarity. Back to Deion.

That's why nobody wanted Rhule

Am I reading this right that Slayton is saying Gus would never send such a shite care package?

I would be highly skeptical if Kiffin lost that very winnable game at home. Being out talented is one thing but that isn’t applicable here.

Mullen against Auburn at Miss State was out talented and still held his own. So being out talented isn’t a complete pardon….

Everyday Harsin gets knocked down another level below Gus. Glad Gus is gone, but this is just stupid.

We fired Gus for not recruiting OL and player development. We hired a guy that doesn't do those either, or anything else Gus DID do.

He can't even do care packages right. Bet he fricks up parking his car every morning too so nobody can park next to him

For the Kiffin guys: I think the days of SEC head coaches moving within the conference are more or less over. With all the TV money coming in, schools like Ole Miss have too much money now. Guys like Tuberville left back in the day because Ole Miss had no money. Today, a school like Ole Miss can and will pay $10+ million for Kiffin to stay there. It's just not that realistic at this point IMO.

Kiffin's next job will probably be to try going back to the NFL if he keeps succeeding.

Yeah that’s why I’m on the freeze train. It’s becoming less about legendary coaches, and more about play calling.

I think rhule would be as close as we could get to having a coach for a long time. He’s done it all and probably wants a place to settle in.

It’s a long shot but I hope we push for Fickell. I don’t think he’ll come but he is still who I think I’d like to have the most.

What if the SEC and/or Auburn decide Freeze is unhirable?
