Why aren’t we interviewing any P5 ADs?????? Not a good start to this process.

Mentioned before but most P5 ADs do everything they can not to be named. Even Greene was rarely named even though we’re all pretty sure he interviewed everywhere

As PM put it, McGlynn, Hartwell, and the other guys are the “known” names. There’s probably a handful of P5 guys as well I’d imagine.

Everything I've heard has suggested Bye-Week.

It needs to happen this weekend after we lose to ole miss.

If he’s not recruiting then he’s setting us back years. Fire the guy with cause or work out an agreement. Best of luck.

Someone needs to take matters into their own hands and create a LinkedIn account using an email from the athletic department, then post the head coaching job on there

It will 100 percent not be Tim Jackson. President Robert’s does not want division. That is the only thing I am certain of.
That's good news.

As to the other candidates, my gut says he will get someone from outside.
I'm just glad to hear that the search isn't being limited to the handful of offices in the Athletic Complex, like it was when we hired Housel and JJ.

Prime to Ga Tech would be awful for Auburn. We are already getting our brains beat in in recruiting and then you drop Prime in the same area. We would be in trouble.

Prime is not going to Tech, because he would not be able to have full ability to recruit there due to academic standards. You are not raiding Atlanta at Georgia Tech because a lot of athletes would not qualify- there aren’t the same number/type of major options available for athletes at Tech. You have to recruit the private schools hard in Atlanta, which is also being recruited by the likes of Stanford and Notre Dame.

Plus Deion’s son is currently on the team at Jackson State and I guarantee Prime wouldn’t go to a school his son couldn’t transfer to if he wanted.

I noted earlier in the thread, when you have online classes, all things are possible.
I hope you’re right and he doesn’t end up at GT.

How do we know Prime’s son couldn’t transfer to GT?

If GT got Stephon Marbury in I think they'd find a way to get Deion's son in

Just because you noted it earlier, doesn't make it true. GT isn't Ole Miss, UGA or UF. Athletes aren't winked at during admission. Every student takes calculus and there aren't any basket weaving degrees.

It does bother me that Kiffin couldn't land a legacy like Manning. Not saying Manning is all that, but shite, grandpa and uncle went to Ole Miss. Kiffin is a QB whisperer, but dude chose Texas?

Texas spent $280,000 for Arch Manning's recruiting weekend. $140,000 a day just to recruit him. What do you think his 3 years at UT will look like? He may never have to work again following college (not that he wouldn't go to the NFL).

I have no idea whether Deion’s son could transfer to Tech or not, but Tech is much more in the same category with Northwestern, Vanderbilt, UVA, in terms of acceptance rate. But it is not just getting into the school it’s the majors offered as well. UGA is a great public school, but they offer way more athlete friendly majors. There are very few D1 Athletes hoping to make it in the NFL, that want to go through an Engineering or Computer Science workload on top of their athletic requirements.

Those higher academic schools have always had to approach recruiting differently and it is the primary reason why Tech went the triple option approach for so long. And there are always exceptions but when you are having to fill out 85 scholarships it is really difficult to do. Stanford has had the most success by far and that is because they can recruit nationally from that pool.

I'm not saying it's a total farce like some of the football factories but it's not like if a top athlete wanted to come to GT they wouldn't be able to get them in and get them through the classes. Them being enrolled in, and passing, a calculus class isn't the same as me or you having to do it.
