We are much closer to TN after Fulmer, than we are to Alabama after Shula.

Both of those were in pretty similar positions ha

Confernce titles, National title(s) depending who you ask, Heismans, coach of the year awards, etc etc etc. Sounds like a program in pretty good shape, just need a good football coach with a recruiting staff. If you listed all we have, but didn't put Auburn on it, people like greygoose would say that program will get whomever they want as coach. We just need to sack up and do it

Hahaha this 100%...

Good Deion interview:
Deion Interview

There are several good HC candidates available right now. Feeling optimistic about how this will turn out.

I predicted this thread would be over 500 pages when it started and we are in October and Harsin isn't even fired yet. Heck, I may have low balled it.

Considering we probably have 60 days until we have a new coach I think we can do it!

Any chance we can get this thread stickied? We all know this thing won't shut down earlier than 500 pages......

We haven’t even fired Harsin yet and the Coaching search thread is going full steam. Probably don’t hire a new coach until December. I think when all is said and done the thread is over 500 pages easy....

(Still not stickied....lookin' at you Lee County)

It’s pretty obvious we aren’t firing Harsin any time soon. I really don’t know what the hangup is. Maybe we fire him at the end of the season but ESD is December 21st. Can NLI deals keep the committed players hAUme while we are looking for a HC?

The AD hire is good for several pages, when HC interviews start chaos will ensue

Is it? I'm assuming he's gone if we lose to Ole Miss.

We have been drawing lines in the sand for far too long now. He is either in or out. I have mixed emotions on why we are waiting but the most depressing thought is he may not get fired at all.

That is the one thing I'm not feeling good about. Are both sides positioning for something? Harsin have a job lined up, we are negotiating the $ terms of his exit? We are (silently this time) looking for cause?

He is gone, he knows it. Why would he stay? Have you ever had a job where you're in a position that he's in? I'd bet he isn't sleeping well, short tempered at home etc. He has an agent, if people want him, why wouldn't he go?

The call has already been made on him. Everything I've heard has suggested Bye-Week. There has been some talk about "end of season" but that doesn't make any sense to me and I can't see that playing out. The fan-noise will start to get deafening really soon with each upcoming loss, and Harsin is pretty damn close to losing this team I think. There were lots of guys that just gave up last week against Georgia.

oh no. I feel like he's too far gone to salvage. Even if he wins out (impossible) I think he would leave either way.

Just a bad match.

Auburn is all those things and have some great accomplishments. Right next to a lot of years of 9-4, 8-5, 7-6, 6-7 records . Yet we have all the resources of the schools that win and have all those things you listed, but follow up with another big year and compete annually more often than not. Are you good with what Auburn has been or do you want a better version moving forward?

Those same coaches that won the SEC and a NC, and coach of the year awards were also fired and we wanted more from them. That is all I’m asking. If we have all the resources like some of the other top programs why can’t we expect our program to compete more consistently year in and year out?

If we want that it’s going to take more than just a coach that understands recruiting. Chiz understood and was out 2 years later. Dye most likely would have been that for us but that got gutted. We need the fans, president, PTB, and AD to come together. We have a chance coming up, I am interested to see how it plays out. It’s going to take money from each of those groups.
