Marcelo tweeted this quote from Bruce: “Blood is thicker than water. He’s my brother.”

Man, some of y’all are haters. This just shows how awesome Bruce is and I think it’s really cool to see some true friendship from these guys, not just being buddy buddy out of convenience or for PR. I wish Gus all the best - as someone else said, he’s a good man who ran a clean program and you could tell his players loved him. The way we tried to go behind his back to hire KEVIN FKNG STEELE was dirty. I’ll be pulling for him and TWill this year.

Big Kat and any player that left can piss right off though lol.

Very kind of Bruce. But has been posted, don’t go out there with UCF gear. Wear neutral colors or something.

Unless he is about to poach a blue chip UCF bball player which is doubtful.

don't see it that way. He's supporting a friend. If a friend gets fired by the company you work for would you stop supporting him?

Not going to show up at his job with his company’s shirt on. Especially if it’s in the same industry as me

totally misplaced.

UCF maybe in the same industry but we're no where near in the same league. Their conference is not competitive with our conference. We don't have a history with that conference, and who can even name who is in that conference? Probably no one.

I have zero problem Bruce wearing their colors to support his friend. Maybe Gus helped Bruce out when Bruce was going through the dark days of the Person scandal.

And I don't treat sports the same as a regular business industry...You would be surprised how close the coaching fraternities are in the different sports...

Now if Bruce was wearing their colors if we were playing UCF that would be overboard... lol.

Bruce does his own thing. He recently congratulated an LSU basketball player for making it to the NBA draft and applauded LSU basketball for getting the most out of him. To most that seems counterproductive to Pearl’s own recruiting efforts but Pearl is apparently confident enough to not be above selling for his competition.

Exactly.

Bruce doesn't worry about perception. And there are others who may be just the opposite. Not sure Gus would have done the same thing in reverse. He worries about everything.. lol.

Agreed. Bruce is a confident man and in a good state of mind right now. That’s a net positive for us. Confidence sells, as do relationships. Bruce is great at both.

Gus, well he is a whole other animal.

Yeah man, it's nice not being anxious about what dumb things the Malzahn is doing on the field anymore and just watching him cause anxiety elsewhere
