I don't think the Jimbo example means what you think it does. He beat AUBURN in a national title game. Give me more proven HC candidates than that. Jimbo shows there's no sure thing when hiring head coaches.

Prime is on his way to an undefeated season in his second year. That is hard to do in any league. I can throw tons of names out of coaches that had experience (hell Harsin had a good track record) and sucked arse when they got a big job.
A lot of you spew crap about Prime that just doesn’t hold water. Always the comments about how he talks loud and talks a good game.
I think there’s much more to the dislike of Prime amongst many here.

The only arguments people have for Prime is that he can recruit and that he has a good record where he is. Where he is is a step above a prep school and against teams that suck. These are the teams ULM and Liberty beatdowm. He has no idea what it's like to be on a staff of a big program and suddenly people want to make him the future of the program because this. It's a bigger gamble than a coordinator from a small school.

That means something when you are talking about a coach coming up that has never been in the spotlight or dealt with pressure. Prime is on another level in the spotlight and not only will it not get to him, he relishes it.

Bottom line, there’s really only four coaches out there that are championship proven (left off O but I like that crazy SOB):
1. Urban. No one likes him though.
2. Saban. Ain’t happening
3. Kirby. Ain’t happening
4. Dabo
