quote:If you are talking about Bobo...remember back when it was swirling that the PTB wanted the old DC and he stated he was bringing in Bobo...I think Bobo was forced on him and Mason was available and knew the ropes of the SEC. I am not making excuses but just seems to be the reality. We have had issues this year but there is a culture change happening, kind of like when Dye & Tubbs came in.

Culture change is a lazy excuse for promoting his boys

I like this Jang. Just wish I had this version when Gus was hiring Hand and Grimes.

Corn wasn't anything special, he was only hired because he was local. I'm not crying over that spillt milk

I’ve went through the Boise State coaching changes. Could not find 2014 staff.
Worst turnover was 2015 when 5 on the field coaches left for various reasons. He only retained two or three.
He had a few years of losing three or two so that wasn’t bad. The revolving door wasn’t so bad as made out to be only because the same coaches Harsin counted on stuck with him
I also scanned Gus’s coaches and he had a shite ton of coaches leave throughout his career however don’t lose fact that Gus wasn’t the shining standard.
I did notice most of Harsin’s departures left for lateral positions though. OC to OC for example. Auburn to Oklahoma State variety.

Year one and people are losing their minds, give the man time and he doesn’t right the ship by year 4-5 then we have a problem. I’ll hit the panic button if we regress next year and the lack of o-line recruiting is very concerning.

He also likes him. Plenty of coaches are a-holes. Would argue there’s more a-holes than not. That kind of shite means nothing.
You see what you want to see
They are either the top 1% meanest people on the planet all the time -
or are gentle giants who will become the top 1% meanest people on the planet about once every couple of weeks
everyone knows this and it is a major component of why I have only two years experience
I am just too nice a guy
I have on occasion wished I had become a college coach 50 years ago - they all retire with huge bucks..
I just have to do it a little differently
