Didn’t realize Gatewood had been at Auburn since 2015. Idiot

What the frick does 2015 have to do with anything?

You are pissed that we won and I find that to be hilarious.

Gus’ record since 2015 against Auburn’s biggest rivals hasn’t been good. Hence why he’s on the hot seat. Didn’t think it was hard to follow. Gatewood is your excuse tho.

Ummm, no. It’s hilarious you’re stupid enough to think anyone is mad about beating Bama.

I have not seen a single person pissed because Auburn won.

So we didn't beat #2 LSU away or #10 Florida away or #6 Georgia.

Apparently our players and coaches all suck.

Great game. Tough win. Tough players.
Happy for Malzahn and the coaches.

Another great Iron Bowl memory.

Why is 10 wins still the bar when there is the availibility to play 15 games?

Because it’s still a good benchmark.

We can go back and forth about expectations for the Auburn program but looking at our previous history, 10+ win seasons are not the norm. So getting to that mark is in fact a big deal historically.

It helps with perception and that helps with recruiting. In 3 months nobody will remember how anemic our offense was in big moments, etc...the record could be 10-3 and coaches can sell 10-4, 8-5 and 10-3 to recruits especially when you can list all the top 10 teams we played in that same window of time.

Maybe

Because only two teams play 15, with just a couple more doing 14, and the overriding majority only ever playing 12?

... and 10 of 12 is 83 percent, which way better than the average of 50/50... (because there are no ties).

So the sales pitch is "come to Auburn and be mediocre"

That should fire up the recruits

Probably should have stated it more clearly...I was speaking in general to the fanbase and less about my own opinion.

I said 9-4 was my expectation this season and wanted to be competitive in the big games. I also wanted the offense to show signs that it didn't stagnate in crucial moments. 2 out of 3 isn't bad IMO. Being disappointed with 10 wins is a modern football issue created by the playoffs or bust mentality. I'm thankful we won. Hopeful we will get to 10 wins in the bowl game and feel similar to the way I felt at the beginning of the season. Gus does a lot of things great...I just wish he'd commit to recruiting DTQB's. He looks like a better OC when he has one because his OL has a 1/2 second more time to get on their 2nd level blocks. He's not alone in this either.

Gus was classic in this showdown, outsmarting Saban all over the place. In fact, this is pretty common in this rivalry. Bama fans may not admit it, but Saban wants Gus out of Auburn, as it’s only a matter of time before Gus evens the series and makes him quit. Saban looks tired, Gus looks high energy. That’s where we stand on 12/1/2019.
