I haven’t said anything about the NIT.
I’ve made it clear before anyone started any predictions that I thought just based on the roster currently that I would put us preseason at a 7 seed with potential to move up to a 4/5 seed. All of that depends on if the team gels in the chemistry department. They will be coached well and have several guys that a proven players. Pettiford, Murphy, and Hall (Overton as well) at the P4 level. Will we hit on every player. Probably not but if we get the big in this weekend signed then I think we have roster flexibility to cover any misses.
I do not think we miss the big dance unless there is a complete collapse or multiple injuries. We play a brutal
Schedule again so if we get ours it will be hard to miss the tournament. For now we aren’t the years of Barbee we are in solid Bruce years. All rosters aren’t complete but we probably will be somewhere around the 4th or 5th most talented rosters in the conference. UK and UF are the top 2 then you have a group of Auburn, Arkansas, Alabama, Texas, Tennessee all anywhere between 3-7.

Ole Miss and Missouri should have strong groups as well.

Once Tahaad decides to come back and a big enters I will start a thread polling how we finish next year.

Does anyone know when or if the subtle NIKE advantage gets felt beyond better sneakers

You basically act like I can’t disagree with idiotic takes without being a homer. I think it’s silly to look at this roster and suggest it’s NIT quality. You think that makes me culty.
Not saying anyone who disagrees should be banned. You’re a nut.

You act like I agree with the poster's opinion. I've already exhibited my quote to you explicitly disagreeing that we are not likely to fall that low.
You try to dispel such a fall though by pointing out the proven talent that we picked up but should be noted you are careful to state what kind of team we will have next year other than vague statements like "we can make some noise."
I've long maintained next season is up in the air. NIT is the floor for one guy, smuphy's homer projected a ceiling of a 3 seed, and Corch's projection falls about in the middle. With so much uncertainty yall rather heal bruised egos by attacking someone that dared insult the program that Bruce has built by prognosticating a subpar year by trying to bully him off with the other guy. Bruce's program is on fire but that revelation doesnt secure wins. Great rosters do. What Overton, Bashir, and others did elsewhere are not proven to be replicated at Auburn.
Truth be told I didn't expect Tahaad to be such an instant impact difference maker as a freshman as early as he was yet he ended up being a major contributor to our F4 run even though many felt like we were a F4 team while discounting Tahaad. If not for his surprise I dont know that we make it to the F4. There is a metric ton of room between Aden's freshman year and Tahaad's freshman year. If Tahaad landed alternatively somewhere in the middle of that who knows we maybe just make it to the sweet 16. And let me remind you- Aden isnt a bad player by even the most cynical margins.
We need more than a couple upside surprises this next year and cannot afford any Pegues's, Howard, or Adens to not be ready otherwise there goes the depth chart.
Lastly to my liberal yankee let me remind you who supported our boys when many here were ready to say our team was set to implode in 2019. Me! You can cast me as some Bruce hater all you want but it's foolish to do so. I can dig up support for Bruce that can easily outlast many states' statute of limitations. Good luck!

It does kinda suck that once we finally shed UA and get Nike that it doesn't really matter anymore in terms of recruiting for the most part.
But at least we will have better sneakers and we no longer have the disadvantage of UA.

This is for sure, and how well thing mesh will definitely determine how far we go. That's much different than what the talent on the roster is though
I think a lot of the back and forth here is one side saying we have talent way better than mid NIT level, and then the other side you are taking is saying there is massive uncertainty and we could easily wind up an 11 seed/NIT team. Both of those things are very much true at the same time.
For example up a little bit you mentioned that Ole Miss should be strong when mentioning SEC rosters (I agree with you there). But Ole Miss only has 2 returning players in Dia and and Freshman who barely did anything, almost everything they have is from the portal. And their top transfer is AJ Storr, who flat out sucked for Kansas last year and was a major reason they had a down year by their standards (I wind up watching parts of way to many Kansas bball games due to my wife being a fan of KU). I still expect ole miss to be a solid team, but they have crazy uncertainty.
And you can say that for all teams, even Arky and Kentucky, who I think have the strongest rosters right now.
I think 94 had a good post earlier when he posted potential upsides and downsides of the players on our roster. If things go about average in terms of that I think Corch is right and we are around 7 seed. I think we are a 6-8 seed range given the talent on our roster and Bruce coaching them, if we have reasonable roster meshing and decent injury luck.
If we have poor roster meshing and/or poor injury luck then we definitely can be down in that 11 seed/NIT range like you are saying.
Of course we could have a situation where Tahaad continues to improve, Murphy and Overton take small steps forward, Hall plays decent defense at the 4, Magwood and Williams have solid freshman seasons, and Bashir and Freeman have their talents translate well moving up to the SEC, in which case we have 4ish seed upside.
We have to have a bunch go right for that to happen, but the roster is there. Freeman and Bashir are the wild cards that will determine whether we are a solid, decent/meh, or very good team.

I am ready for Jabari Smith to get traded.

Good season for the team but he plays with a bunch of ball hogs. However he still needs to work on his dribble drive and improve his overall 3pt percentage

He scores more efficiently than Jalen Green.

Always hate this period of having to root against a guy like Tahaad grading well in the draft process
