It doesn't grind my gears. I just trust Bruce's evaluation over some doomers on a message board. Going off of Bruce's track record outside of when he was having to play Tony Barbee's bag of leftover turds, he's been pretty alright. 
And as everyone has already said, every team is having to significantly rebuild. We aren't some anomaly in CBB in that regard. Granted we don't currently and never have had the ridiculous budgets of Duke or Kentucky, but Bruce recruits well enough to have an average seed of 4.8 when his team makes the NCAAT. A 7 seed wouldn't be splendid. At this point it would be a mild disappointment, though as a longtime Auburn BB fan I'm not gonna complain about any tournament seed.
