He could be a Kemba Walker type guard with multiple college years under his belt.

Kemba was 6’0” and was a lottery pick.

Do you remember his final conference and NCAA tourney run? That's why his height was a nonfactor. Tahaad is good but not that good, at least not yet.

Right. Clearly obvious.

Hopefully you read where I said that type of guard with multiple years of college bball under is belt.

And we're discussing him leaving THIS year, the only reason he'd stay is a big enough NIL offer or a mediocre draft grade. The NBA guard game has moved away from the Kemba Walker types anyways

My original comment was to someone who said his draft stock couldn’t rise because he’s 6’1”, which is bullshite.

The average starting PG height is 6’2”, so not sure what you mean by “Kemba Walker types”

His height is a little smaller for NBA, but not terrible, and he can raise his draft stock by playing college ball for a couple more years. Not sure what you’re taking issue with.

Not to start and Sean White 2.0 height debate but the consensus here is that whatever we have him listed at he would be lucky to measure 6'

I guess my issue is we're probably not going to be seeing too many guys with NBA potential sitting in one place for multiple years.

If you have decent college production and a NBA skill you're going to be either getting the draft grade you want or a bigger deal and I hope Auburn ponies up for Tahaad but the numbers being thrown around are ridiculous and I don't know committed the Auburn bball donors are (even though they should be).

In one of the Final Four interviews Bruce said 5’11”. I think it may have been the same one where he and JB called him little shite.

Saw him walk out of the hotel and was surprised by how short he looked. 6 feet would be slightly surprising

Got a lot of guys to replace and probably only so much money to spend to do it. He's valuable... to a point. Past that, best of luck.

As much as I enjoyed Pettiford this year and as much as he helped us win some huge games… our NIL coffers ain’t that deep and he shouldn’t get Broome type money. Make him the best offer we can given the rest of the roster holes and move on.

Can try to team up Magwood with veteran guard this year and try for a similar dynamic

No we need to make him whole. He is proven and young. If anything pay less to the unproven. Magwood...

I'm being a bitch but reading this thread and our limitations being spotlighted I'm afraid we might have just missed our last real chance

I don't think you're wrong. Auburn is not a basketball factory and even those schools struggle to make it to the championship game consistently. We had just about everything we needed - elite paint scoring, pretty good guard scoring, terrific defensive cohesion.

Yeah what are the odds we get and keep 3 or 4 guys from morehead state, d2, juco that become the nucleus of a team with this potential

Broome plugs a lot more holes than Pettiford could on a college team at this stage of his career. Of course I want him back but you've got to think like a penny pinching GM unfortunately.

Bruce has overcome a lot to get us another team in the final four. I trust him to right the ship. While it may not happen in one year, I think he stays for another run at it. If not, Stephen seems to be taking up more of a leadership role and I'm okay with that.
