That completion to Simmons that was "behind" him. Listen to RGIII comments during the play. Arnold drops back and is watching the defender in the middle, as soon as he takes a step away from where Simmons is running, Jackson fires it. Jackson did not even get a three step drop, he just let it rip.....to the only place where it would not be intercepted, between three defenders. Simmons was running himself right into coverage, he should have slowed down a step, Instead it looked like a throw "behind him".

The endzone pass Coleman missed. It was a backshoulder throw we watched film of them practicing over and over. Its NOT a shoulder to shoulder, face the QB one arm highlight reel catch. Had Coleman turned his body and shoved his arse at the defender it would have been a catch or interference.

The long 26 yard completion to Coleman. One of the rare times all game Baylor was one high deep on safety, Arnold recognized it and waited for Coleman to break free deep across the field, Coleman made a great catch.

This kid is impressive....and the legs.....oh my.

On the reply, it looked like the defender prevented him from getting his left arm around. Or Coleman just got it too tangled to bring it around. That will be a TD next time.

I’m not sure on his passing reads but I only saw 2 subpar throws and 1 other that was misplaced down the sideline. He had one good throw away. So his adjusted completion percentage is 69%

Defender did a good job hand fighting on that one. Jackson should have lofted the ball a bit more and Cam may have had a better chance to disengage and have a more true jump ball, but overall there wasn't really a chance for there to be a bad outcome with how they executed, so ultimately not a bad attempt.

I said it shortly after the game, but I think we are going to see a lot of over the top coverage like we did in our game. Across the country passing games struggled to do anything that wasn't underneath stuff. It is the same strategy the NFL is using right now, so I was less concerned about our production there after what I saw everywhere else. Still something we need to improve on, but we were very vanilla friday as well.

I read that comment and agree wholeheartedly.

Why it was a good reason to see it early rather than go through three cupcakes, walk into Norman and get bushwhacked with it.

I was impressed the one time they went one high we took advantage with that long pass to Coleman.....and they immediately went back to two high.....and we started running again.

Very encouraging game.

To your point, we will have to come up with some passing gameplan to work the short game as we go forward.

The defender held him from turning. It should have been a PI.

I love that every year there are those who believe we are holding out some super top secret plays for later in the season.

That isn't what I said at all. I said we were vanilla, which we were. We largely stayed in the same base 3 WR formation the majority of the game. I think we may have shown a 4 WR look one time the whole game. Wasn't much in the form of pre-snap motion or alignment shifts. We kept things very simple with what we were doing.

I don't know that I would call it vanilla but it was definitely simple and we didn't have to show a plan b
