Ross Dellenger

@RossDellenger
John Cohen has informed Mississippi State officials of his resignation from the school, sources tell @SINow.

The expectations is he will be named the Auburn AD as soon as today in a deal that was being finalized over the weekend.

John Cohen's deal with Auburn is expected to be a five-year contract that pays him about $1.5 million a year, with incentives and assurances that he will operate his own athletic department, sources tell

I mean, I think it was pretty clear there was at least some push back, so he wasn't fully wrong. He is just absolutely terrible and relaying a level headed post, then just doubles down on being an emotional twat.

I see that a Harsin groupie and “We are Tennessee” fans are first w/ the pushback.

Which confirms we made the right choice.

I signed up for $1 there and its OK but Hoke's breathless clickbait posts get annoying.

The MSU guy, Steve Robertson has been around for as long as Mark Murphy and is known to have a great reputation. He's been saying for a week that this would be a huge loss for MSU. Cohen seems to be well-respected - and no person is going to have 100% approval - and he's also a 7-year SEC AD. Seems like a good hire to me. I would have been approving of Hartwell too. I wasn't part of the interviewing process so we'll see.

I don’t know if he’ll be a good AD or not. Doubt anyone else does either. Buuuuuut, I’m pretty glad we have one in place now. 51 days left before ESD

He literally said last night that he expected it to be Cohen. All he reported was that there was pushback, which seems to be confirmed considering that the hire was leaked during the game on Saturday and yet it took till today to formally announce it.

Right, but be weary of this. Cohen was a long-time baseball coach at MSU. That Robertson guy has apparently admitted in the past that he is good friends with Cohen. So how do you think he is going to present him?

If his relationship is that tight then it's no different from PAM being a mouthpiece for certain boosters.
