To be honest I don't know of too many municipalities that don't ticket heavy towards the end of the month. They have plenty of speed traps throughout Colorado Springs to increase revenue. Sucks.

What is the worst speed trap in Auburn? I'd say East Tatch near Debartaleben (sp). Its like 25mph and, no one pays attention. I swear they got 6 people the other day when i was at my beloved's place for about 4 hours.
A close second has to be hidden on that hill near Hardee's.

quote:Same. I got one on March 31st for going 28 in a 25 at the bottom of the big hill on East Thach.
Every speeding violation I have received while at Auburn has come near month end. Didn't think anything of it til talking to someone about this stuff months ago

Such bullshite. The Suwanee cops around here do the same damn shite.

Talked to a friend from AU who has a relationship with a current officer...guy was fired for a BS reason but there is no official quota system and there is no penalty for not meeting requested numbers.

Milton cops have one sliver that was once alphretta that they pretty much don't leave and is the opposite of 95% of their territory as it is not country roads. The city of atlanta cut their funding, so they make it up in tickets.
There is a traffic light on winnward parkway that is supposed to be the number one DUI arrest place in the state. Milton police sit on one side of the road and Alphretta sits on the other.

I see he didn't directly address the issue of "quotas" and "contacts".
That omission is quite telling.

Hard to dispute what is said on those tapes. Sounds a lot like a quota system. Police departments never admit to quotas from top to bottom though anyways

It's funny you mention that b/c I live near there. That part of Thach used to be 35 until one of the home owners start a petition to lower the speed. He came by my house and said he had to have enough signatures before the city would change it. Like a retard, I signed the thing.

Worst area I've seen in Georgia is north of Macon on I-75. Got a $500 ticket for not moving out of the slow lane while a cop was giving someone else a ticket on the shoulder. I had *just* entered the highway from the on ramp and I thought there was too much traffic to move over. I couldn't believe it when I discovered how much the fine was. I actually think it's a good law for police protection, but frankly, I felt in my situation it was unjust. Guess many people would say that about their own situations. Anyway, from travelling through this area over the years I'm always seeing cops giving people tickets there. Almost never see this in the Atlanta area on the highway.
(No, I didn't fight the ticket because it would have required two different court trips over an hour away with no certainty it would be dropped).

He's a jackass because you drove drunk?

Am I just being absent minded from working in the heat all day, or is there no such thing as "beta sorority."
Hell I had to learn all of them not that long ago. Can't imagine I'm already forgetting.

I figured it was Pi Beta Phis he was talking about.
Posted on 7/26/13 at 5:52 pm to NorthGwinnettTiger
Never heard it referred to as anything other pi phi.

Me neither, but it's been almost 10 years since I was in school so I wasn't sure if things changed.
