Hoke with a second update on sway
He seems even more bullish on sway staying

If you could bring back Pettiford, SWA, and Overton that's a real core you could build a team around.
Putting the cart before the horse for sure but if you have those 3, I think you focus on getting a defensive minded 5 and a defensive minded ball control 1, grab the best 3 money can buy and you are beginning to have a legitimate rotation

We have San Diego States backup pg coming in for a visit next week. Hopefully that's good news with Tahaad but we need a backup regardless so who knows

Auburn basketball twitter hinting at some big news today.

SWA is officially back. This is definitely a win for Steven and Auburn

Sway has the right bones of a basketball stud.
His shot is clean, he is aggressive, and he has size.
He needs to refine his offensive arsenal and learn when to use touch with the ball.

Agree and I think he will. Guys his size dominated physically in high school but aren't big enough to do it in college so there's a curve.

SWA seems to get better at free throws.
He is twitchy for a big man.
He sometimes plays in a hurry, but I think he has serious NBA potential.
Glad he wants to stay.

Props for Pearl. Showing a lot to keep the team together for the most part

He either needs to improve from 3 and learn to play off two feet on both ends of the floor in the paint. That and some ball handling and he would be a good 4 man

Outside of Tahaad I don't think there's a single player who can get the ball down the court faster than SWA. Like you all said he needs some touch and to learn a little more control. He has great upside.

Man needs to learn some type of hook shot or something bad. I've never seen someone his size get blocked as much as he does
Really glad he is coming back, as you said, so much potential.

247 is saying we are and have been involved with Dowd from Troy. I wonder how that would work out with SWA and potentially Freeman all playing similar positions. Dowd is more of a true stretch 4 where SWA is a little of the 3 and 4 and Freeman more of the traditional wing that could give Overton a rest at times. Not sure that's a realistic scenario but it's fun to dream
Read something on the Twitter from someone I trust that says no way dowd is a 4. Says he's closer to 6'6 than 6'8 and a wing at this level. Goes against what ive read elsewhere but this guy is usually spot on

Tulsa's PG that lit us up for 20 is visiting next week

I think freeman can play some 2 as well for a big lineup. Would love to get Dowd. From what I’ve read Tennessee, Vandy and Texas Tech are after him too. But his gf is at AU so that’s a big play.

depth and talent is never a bad thing.

Yea Dowd is more of a true 4. SWA is a 4 that can be a 3 as well and Freeman is a 3 that can be a 2 if needed. All such different styles so I don't think there would be much overlap between them and in smaller ball ineups could probabl play Dowd at 5 and SWA at 4.
Guard is where things really are going to be interesting to see what happens. If Taad is/wants to play off ball more, him and Overton will largely be occupying the same role to a large degree, assuming Taad does return.

I don't see that happening. He was told at the combine last year the 1 is his option in the NBA. IF he stays, hopefully he improves at running the O. He played better early in the NIT. In the second half, against Tulsa, he regressed back to dribbling around looking for his shot.
