They definitely compliment each other much better if nothing else. Freeman doesn’t have much outside game but is technical in the post, so maybe play Dowd at the 3 and you have a quicker slasher, athletic guy that pounds the boards and can knock down the outside shot. Then maybe Ngoy at the 5 for some added muscle in the paint.
If we get Aristode, can have him at the 3 with Olsen at 4. Olsen is a big outside threat and good without the ball, which should free up space for the others.
That then lets Taad and Overton have some more freedom and gives more options off the pick and roll game. Far more variety with how we should be able to attack teams and packages we can run.

Give me Mantis and any PG that can take care of the basketball, distribute the ball, and shoot FTs. Then it’s a wrap.
Would be a very solid squad if they can come together and have the willingness to bust their asses on defense.
Regardless I think this roster may not be more talented but so far better put together than last year’s.

Yep, he was a fan favorite around here... But for a big kid he seemed to either stand around looking (play dainty) or go bull in the china cabinet (with fouls). Freshman woe perhaps but he'd of not seen the minutes on a better AU team.

With the way rosters are year to year now I believe we upgraded for next year trading him for Dowd but SWA has a much higher ceiling and could break out his Jr year if he puts in the work. He would be a nice piece to build around

Correct, have to have been in the portal by last night.
As far as when they have to choose by, honestly I'm not sure. I'd assume as long as they can enroll in classes next year, they have until then.

Sat out last year with an injury. Here are some of his EKU highlights. Definitely a solid backup option and it is a good situation for him too, for the year after. Seems to be a pesky defender too.

Probably as good as you could ask for a 3rd guard with a returning Pettiford and Overton. Looks to have some real sauce

Him and Taad have very similar style games to them as far as creativity and shot creation ability.

His play style reminds me of Josh Hubbard from MSU, which is a good thing.

That's big. He can play both guard spots and allows Tahaad to slide over to the 2 at times to help his scoring if he's in a funk

With him leaving, that moves Freeman to some 5 time as well as 4. I think we could possibly take both Mantas (2/3) and Aristode (3/4) now

Now we need another wing. Preferably one who has the ability to attack the basket. We have a lot of shooters but Tahaad and Kimble are the only two true downhill types on the roster. I haven't seen him play but reportedly that's in the praying Mantas's toolkit so sign him up and lets roll
Still not ready to get fully on board the Steven Pearl train but I will start spelling his name right again and am fairly impressed with the roster construction for next season
