If Gonzalez can give us 6-7. You can probably still throw Sheehan and/or Carson to some of those lefties and get to Burkhalter in the 9th. Not sure you trust a freshman unless you have a good lead but Allsup can give an inning if needed.

Yep. I know Burky can do it but I don’t recall how Skipper bounces back. If we can 3 innings out of Shaheen/Skipper that might get us to Burky if we’re tied or up.

The coaches made great decisions on pitching last night.

I think It must be hard to pull a starter in first inning,
But a hard decision was necessary.

As the announcers said Burkhalter has given up runs now in 3-4 games he’s been in.

But w a 3 run lead Butch knew he had done cushion and made the right call.

Another reason is if he brings Skipper back in those added pitches may mean losing him in game 2 for sure and possibly for the 3rd if we get that far.

Our pitching was outstanding in the most important game.
