That would mean UT, Arky, aTm and AU are all hosting Supers. I'd love for AU to host a Super but I would think the NCAA selection committee would come up with some janky calculus to keep that from happening. I hope I'm wrong.

It scared the bejeezus out of me when the AU trainer came out and looked at Gonzalez's finger. I thought he might of had another blister.

Top 6th and we're in a 1 hour lightning delay. The "Sunday @ 7pm" rule won't apply today.

Glad to hear that. Who makes that decision?

We really could have used that third game against bama.

Its an SEC rule for Sundays. I would hope they'll review it after the season. The semesters were over for AU or UA so other than the rule there was no reason not to attempt to play after 7pm.

If we would have finished the 5th inning and scored we would have won the game. That's where a little home cooking would have helped. The AU facilities manager jumped out there and called the delay as soon as he could. The Alabama coaching staff was apparently shocked that it was called before the inning was over given the great on-base situation we were in. I hope that facilities guy got a talking to after that situation. The rule is stupid so let AU finish the inning so it becomes an official game.

Colossal collapse by Vandy Boys pitching staff giving up 11 in the 8th.

Auburn now down 4-1 bottom 6th

Welll. We had our own collapse giving Ky 5 runs.

Going to be difficult now.

If our facilities guy actually did that he must care less about sports.

I think bases were loaded less than 2 outs if he called it when u said.

That half game was going to help us. Now it will hurt us.

We just gave that game away. IDK what LaRue was thinking on that throw. I know LaRue has a hose but he's never close to picking anyone off. If you watched the camera angle behind home plate on LaRue's throw to 2nd the runner was barely out of the brown turf area. The runner was already on the bag when the ball hit him in the arse.

I would think that is a safe assumption. During the game on ESPN they happened to have the camera on Thompson and the dugout when he walked onto the field and got the umps attention. Then ESPN showed him walking over to the Alabama dugout to tell their coaches. ITAT and ON3 both wrote about Alabama being surprised it was called right then so I'm assuming its correct. That shithead likely cost us a bye. We were bases loaded and one out, and a hitters count IIRC.

I thought it was a lightning delay and rained during the overall delay. That would have nothing to do with groundskeeper

And I don’t have a great feeling about that game. Jesus we really didn’t have any clutchness.

Groundskeeper/facilities guy called the lightning delay and alerted the umps the moment it popped up on his laptop or ipad he was carrying around with him. While technically its the right call, what I'm arguing is that he could've waited a few minutes so we could have completed the 5th inning. It didn't start raining until well after the original 1 hour lightning delay. If we would have completed the 5th inning, it would have counted as an official game. It is was it is.

I sure as heck thought it was a horrible time to call the gm. I thought lightning strike was dictated though

I think it’s a mandatory 30 minute wait from the last strike within a 5 mile radius of the field. It’s a hard rule. So if you have strike and you start the clock and another happens 25 minutes later the clock starts again.

while all true, we controlled our own destiny. Win two of three and we are sitting round one.

And we were playing the 12th seed. While they are good and capable of we want to get a bye no excuses

Dropping that game yesterday wasn’t a good thing for us heading into tourney play. Letting a 12 seed take the series was stereotypical AU at its finest. Pisses me off that we can’t finish anything with authority.
