Our problem all year has been shitty batting. By that I dont mean hitting but the art of batting. Not swinging at every gotdamn pitch and as the old timers said hitting it where they aint. I saw so many guys tonight trying to hit homers and popping out it was pitiful. We had runners in scoring position woth 2outs a few times and we batted like we needed a Homer instead of putting the ball in play. We didnt make their pitchers earn it.

haha no it wasn't

I mean I get it. Win as a team, lose as a team. Lot of opportunities missed that could have won the game....like not seeing the runner stealing home or bad plate discipline etc

But we all saw it. That was the play that lost the game. To say otherwise is trying to soften the blame on the RF

I’m not down with the Gabe Gross hate but we certainly made Byrne look better than he is.

Cmon man, that pitcher from Florida was straight dealing it tonight. He had full control over every pitch type he had in his arsenal. Placement was on point. Moved the hitters eyes. Kept them off balance.

Give credit where its due.

It's not even about that pitcher or that game really. Gabe has a MLB approach to batting which is HR or strik out. That approach IMO is a lazy. old school ball works better. It's simple you work the count get walks, get singles, bunt, sac bunt. ABC baseball just works. Just because Gabe was a good player doesn't mean he knows how to teach.

Totally agree, very different kind of crash and burn but still a terrible way to finish a great ride. Feel terrible for those kids. WDE

Well, some people like guerrilla ball, some don't. But its hard to talk shite about a coach that helped lead a team to the super regionals.

Check this year’s hitting stats vs. last year’s stats and get back to me. Thanks.

Nope. If you have been around Auburn long enough, you kinda get use to it.

Onward. Got fish to catch..

I mean it’s not gonna ruin my day or anything but it definitely sucks to lose like that. Would be awesome to finally get back to Omaha and we had a legit chance this year to win it all.

Nope, it wasn't.

But I'm not gonna shite on the young man, he was trying to make a play. He WANTED to make a play. I think he got distracted by the wall and didn't look the ball all the way in, but c'est la vie.

I'm not going to blame a kid for a fluke play in the 11th in a game like this

I mean hell, UF stole home this game

That approach is fun.

Based in our results this year, it also seems to work

It can work when you face lesser pitching like it did in Raleigh. However when younhave to face good pitchers in Supers and later in Omaha it will get you beat in close games.
